Nonlinear TE-waves in nonhomogeneous Goubau Line
2021 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA), 2021In this work, we study TE-polarized electromagnetic waves propagating in an inhomogeneous dielectric waveguide of circular cross section filled with a medium; the nonlinearity is simulated by Kerr’s law. For the numerical solution of the problem, an iterative algorithm is proposed, and its convergence is proved.

Propagation of TE waves in cylindrical nonlinear dielectric waveguides
Physical Review E, 2005The propagation of TE-polarized electromagnetic waves along a Kerr-type nonlinear dielectric, nonabsorbing, nonmagnetic, and isotropic (circular) cylindrical waveguide is investigated. For axially (azimuthal) symmetric solutions the problem is reduced to a cubic-nonlinear integral equation that is solved by iteration leading to a sequence uniformly ...

TE-wave image reconstruction by genetic algorithm
ICMWFST'96. 1996 4th International Conference on Millimeter Wave and Far Infrared Science and Technology. Proceedings, 2002This paper presents a computational approach to reconstruct the shape of a perfectly conducting cylinder illuminated by TE wave. Base on the boundary condition and the measured scattered field, we have derived a set of nonlinear integral equations and reformulated the imaging problem into an optimum one. By using the genetic algorithm, the shape of the

Shadow Theory of Diffraction Grating: A Numerical Example for TE Wave
IEICE Transactions on Electronics, 2009By use of the shadow theory developed recently, this paper deals with the transverse electric (TE) wave diffraction by a perfectly conductive periodic array of rectangular grooves. A set of equations for scattering factors and mode factors are derived and solved numerically.

Image reconstruction of a complex cylinder illuminated by TE waves
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1996The electromagnetic inverse scattering of a complex cylinder illuminated by transverse electric (TE) waves is investigated. The complex cylinder is a conductor coated by dielectric materials, A group of various unrelated TE waves is incident upon the object and the scattered fields are measured outside.

Numerical study of TE waves propagating in multibranch couplers
Fiber and Integrated Optics, 1992Abstract The evolution of TE-polarized waves propagating in the linear and nonlinear multibranch coupler is studied. The propagation of the waves in both directions is calculated by the beam-propagation method (BPM). The numerical results of simulation show that the minimum insertion loss of the nonlinear multibranch coupler is less than 0.088 dB ...

TE-wave scattering by a multiangular trough in a conducting plane
MMET Conference Proceedings. 1998 International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory. MMET 98 (Cat. No.98EX114), 2002Electromagnetic scattering of a transverse electric wave by an infinite loaded trough of a multiangular cross-section is studied using the domain product technique which employs a Mathieu function expansion. The algorithm gives the possibility of a substantial variation of the geometry of the trough without turning to another mathematical model ...

Heating of deep—seated tumors by te wave irradiation
Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part I: Communications), 1990AbstractAs an applicator for heating deep‐seated tumors in the human body in a non‐invasive manner, a multiapplicator system radiating TE wave is proposed. In addition, it is shown that a hot zone can be formed deeply inside the human body if a method for good adjustment of the amplitude and phase of each applicator element is used.

Scattering of TE Waves by Cavity-Backed Slots
32nd European Microwave Conference, 2002, 2002A rigorous solution of the problem of a TE wave scattering by a finite number of slots in a PEC plane backed by resonant cavities is given. The scattering problem formulated in terms of system of singular integral equations has been solved by the method of analytical regularization.
