Reference Values for Water‐Specific T1, Intermuscular and Intramuscular Fat Content in Skeletal Muscle at 2.89 T

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 62, Issue 1, Page 146-159, July 2025.
Background MRI offers quantification of proton density fat fraction (PDFF) and tissue characteristics with T1 mapping. The influence of age, sex, and the potential confounding effects of fat on T1 values in skeletal muscle in healthy adults are insufficiently known.

Whole liver phase‐based R2 mapping in liver iron overload within a breath‐hold

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 94, Issue 1, Page 183-198, July 2025.
Abstract Purpose Diagnosis and treatment monitoring of iron overload increasingly relies on non‐invasive MRI‐based measurement of liver iron concentration (LIC). Liver R2 mapping is known to correlate well with LIC. However, traditional spin‐echo based R2 mapping methods have drawbacks such as long acquisition times and limited volumetric coverage.

Free Water‐Corrected Fractional Anisotropy in Normal‐Appearing White Matter as a Potential Neuroimaging Biomarker for Attention and Executive Function Impairment in Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 31, Issue 6, June 2025.
In CSVD, NAWM FAt, distinct from early‐stage MRI indices, significantly contributes to attention/executive function decline in the right anterior corona radiata, left superior frontal blade, right superior corona radiata, left anterior limb of internal capsule, and right tapetum.

PCIF1 drives oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma progression via m6Am‐mediated suppression of MTF2 translation

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2025.
PCIF1 promotes OSCC progression via m6Am methylation at the MTF2 mRNA 5′ cap. m6Am methylation suppresses MTF2 translation, enhancing tumour cell proliferation and invasion. Targeting PCIF1 holds therapeutic potential for OSCC treatment. Abstract Oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) represents a highly aggressive malignancy with limited ...

Anisotropic metamaterials for scalable photonic integrated circuits: a review on subwavelength gratings for high‐density integration

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 14, Issue 9, Page 1311-1331, April 2025.
Abstract Photonic integrated circuits (PICs) are transforming optical technology by miniaturizing complex photonic elements and systems onto single chips. However, scaling PICs to higher densities is constrained by optical crosstalk and device separation requirements, limiting both performance and size. Recent advancements in anisotropic metamaterials,

Mezclas asfálticas modificadas con un elastómero (caucho) y un plastómero (tiras de bolsas de leche con asfalto 80-100)

open access: yesInfraestructura Vial, 2012
La adición de productos industrializados como el caucho y el plástico podrían hacer parte constitutiva de la estructura de un pavimento al dar a las mezclas asfálticas un mejor comportamiento mecánico y por ende una mayor duración de vida.

Toward Large‐Scale Photonic Chips Using Low‐Anisotropy Thin‐Film Lithium‐Tantalate

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 9, March 6, 2025.
This article demonstrates low‐birefringence photonic integrated circuits based on lithium‐tantalate‐on‐insulator, enabling high‐performance passive photonic devices as well as electro‐optic (EO) modulators for large‐scale photonic chips. Various representative passive photonic devices are demonstrated with impressive performances.
