Relevance between Proximal Humeral Migration and Rotator Cuff Tears
BackgroundProximal humeral migration is common in patients with rotator cuff tears. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the relevance between proximal humeral migration and some rotator cuff tear-related factors.MethodsA total of 75 patients with ...

The effect of polar lipids on tear film dynamics [PDF]
In this paper we present a mathematical model describing the effect of polar lipids on the evolution of a precorneal tear film, with the aim of explaining the interesting experimentally observed phenomenon that the tear film continues to move upwards ...

Plan-View Preparation of TEM Specimens from Thin Films Using Adhesive Tape [PDF]
A simple plan-view sample preparation technique for transmission electron microscopy (TEM) specimens is proposed for thin films by tearing-off the film with adhesive tape. The demand for very thin samples is highest for nanostructured materials where the

Glenohumeral joint motion after subscapularis tendon repair: an analysis of cadaver shoulder models [PDF]
BACKGROUND: As for the surgical treatment of the rotator cuff tears, the subscapularis tendon tears have recently received much attention for the mini-open or arthroscopic repair.

Tear duct size differences of age, sex and race [PDF]
AbstractMeasurements of the external opening of the tear duct (naso‐lachrymal canal) of skulls of American colored males and white males indicate larger apertures among the former at corresponding ages. Duct length is somewhat shorter among colored males. In both racial samples the older skulls have slightly larger apertures than those under 40.

Breakup of Air Bubbles in Water: Memory and Breakdown of Cylindrical Symmetry [PDF]
Using high-speed video, we have studied air bubbles detaching from an underwater nozzle. As a bubble distorts, it forms a thin neck which develops a singular shape as it pinches off. As in other singularities, the minimum neck radius scales with the time

The effects of rotator cuff tear on shoulder proprioception [PDF]
Purpose: To evaluate the effects of rotator cuff tear (RCT) and its severity on shoulder proprioception. Methods: We studied 132 consecutive patients (67 M-65 F; mean age ± SD, 66.03 ± 9.04; range, 43–78) who underwent arthroscopic rotator cuff repair ...
