Investigation of microstructural failure in the human cornea through fracture tests

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Fracture toughness of the human cornea is one of the critical parameters in suture-involved corneal surgeries and the development of bioengineered mimetics of the human cornea.

Biomarkers in ocular chronic graft versus host disease: tear cytokine- and chemokine-based predictive model. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Producción CientíficaPurpose: To develop a tear molecule level-based predictive model based on a panel of tear cytokines and their correlation with clinical features in ocular chronic graft versus host disease (cGVHD).

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Repair of a Complete Radial Tear of the Lateral Meniscus

open access: yesVideo Journal of Sports Medicine, 2021
Background: Recognizing and repairing a lateral meniscus complete radial tear is critical, as this tear pattern makes the meniscus nonfunctional for load sharing of axial forces, and the convex shape of the lateral tibial plateau increases contact ...

Surgical treatment of an aseptic fistulized acromioclavicular joint cyst: a case report and review of the literature. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
An acromioclavicular joint cyst is an uncommonly reported condition, which seems to result from a massive rotator cuff tear and degenerative osteoarthritis of the acromioclavicular joint.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tear detection method of conveyor belt based on fully convolutional neural network

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2022
The existing conveyor belt tear detection methods have problems, such as poor underground visible light imaging quality, lack of tear physical size measurement means, and poor generalization capability.

Cloud fragmentation and proplyd-like features in HII regions imaged by HST [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We have analyzed HST ACS and WFPC2 new and archival images of eight HII regions to look for new proto-planetary disks (proplyds) similar to those found in the Orion Nebula.
