Microstructure and susceptibility to hot tearing of K424 nickel-based superalloys for turbocharger turbine wheels

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2016
Hot tearing tends to occur when K424 superalloy is used for a turbocharger turbine wheel. To solve this problem, the alloy characteristics of K424 and K418 superalloys and the factors impacting the susceptibility to hot tearing were studied by ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

3-d resistive MHD simulations of magnetic reconnection and the tearing mode instability in current sheets

open access: yes, 2008
Magnetic reconnection plays a critical role in many astrophysical processes where high energy emission is observed, e.g. particle acceleration, relativistic accretion powered outflows, pulsar winds and probably in dissipation of Poynting flux in GRBs ...

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Mullins effect under tearing mode and its reversibility of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer/chloroprene rubber thermoplastic vulcanizates

open access: yesHecheng xiangjiao gongye, 2023
Thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) based on ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA)/chloroprene rubber (CR) blends were prepared by dynamic vulcanization. Its micromorphology, tearing strength, Mullins effect and reversible behavior and its mechanism under ...

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Hot tearing susceptibility of aluminum alloys using CRCM-Horizontal mold

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2017
Hot tearing is one of the common defects in casting products. Hot tearing susceptibility (HTS) is evaluated using three casting temperatures: 710, 760 and 810 °C.

Influence and evaluation of constraint on fracture toughness in pipeline research [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Accessing nowadays fossil fuel reserves requires a strain-based design approach. Within such design, the ductile tearing resistance is a key parameter in assessing the defect tolerance. To determine this tearing resistance, full scale (pressurized) tests

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.
