Technical proficiency for IS Success
Computers in Human Behavior, 2014The Information System (IS) Success model implies that IS users possess baseline technical abilities; an assumption that, if not met, may adversely affect the constructs and relationships proposed by the model. We propose that the level of users' technical proficiency should be accounted for when considering deployment of information systems.

Advanced Technical Pearls for Successful Supermicrosurgical Lymphaticovenular Anastomosis
Annals of Plastic Surgery, 2021Abstract Lymphaticovenular anastomosis (LVA) is now accepted as one of the mainstays of surgical treatment of lymphedema. The unique advantages of LVA that set it apart from other procedures such as vascularized lymph node transfer are its safety and its minimally invasive nature. To date, there has been no report of worsening of disease as a

Technical Challenges to Successful Dialyzer Reuse
Blood Purification, 1995Limitations of dialyzer reuse technology may contribute to adverse patient outcomes. Assessing changes in dialyzer performance by measuring changes in total cell volume may not be valid for all membranes and reprocessing methods. Systems which determine dialyzer performance on-line are superior.

Introducing Technical (Not Managerial) Succession Planning
Public Personnel Management, 2004Succession planning to most government executives probably means executive replacement planning — planning for senior-level backups. Presenting the successful technical seminar
IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication, 1983Conducting a successful technical seminar requires careful preparation. Pre-seminar planning includes (1) outlining your material, (2) developing much more material than you think you'll need, and (3) arranging comfortable and appropriate facilities. At the beginning of the seminar you should provide a topical outline and announce plans to take a break

Delayed Complications following Technically Successful Thoracic Duct Embolization
Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, 2012Thoracic duct (TD) embolization (TDE) has become a universally accepted treatment of chylous pleural effusion. However, the long-term sequelae of occlusion of the TD are unknown. The objective of the present study was to determine the rate of delayed complications after technically successful TDE.A total of 169 patients underwent TDE for symptomatic ...

Creating Radiocephalic Arteriovenous Fistulas: Technical and Functional Success
Journal of the American College of Surgeons, 2009The radiocephalic arteriovenous fistula (RC-AVF) at the wrist is the recommended first choice for hemodialysis access. Several authors have reported early thrombosis or failure of RC-AVFs to mature in up to 20% to 57% of patients. We report a consecutive series of individuals in whom physical and ultrasonography (US) examinations predicted success with
