Contactless interferometric incremental measurement technique

Measurement, 1988
Abstract This paper presents a measurement technique which makes it possible to scan varying interference patterns by using the incremental procedure (forward-backward counting method). The essence of this procedure is that the primary interference pattern is scanned point-shaped (with a very small detector area) and in a locally identical way.

Synthetic interferometric imaging technique for moving objects

Applied Optics, 1976
It is shown, theoretically and experimentally, that an object traveling through an interference field formed by two coherent point sources can be imaged via synthetic aperture techniques. The time varying signal scattered by the object is electronically detected and then recorded spatially such that the recording is a one-dimensional hologram of the ...

Generalized interferometric technique for ultrashort pulse characterization

Applied Optics, 1987
A direct Young interferometric technique as a tool to determine ultrashort chirped Gaussian pulses characteristics is described: the intensity as a function of the order of the minima of the interference pattern depends on a function of the pulse characteristics.

New absolute distance interferometric technique

SPIE Proceedings, 2004
We present a new method for the measurement of the absolute distance of a remote target based on the laser diode self-mixing interferometry technique, assisted by an electronic feedback loop capable of increasing the measurement accuracy. In this method, we use an electronic feedback loop to generate a wavelength change that exactly corresponds to one ...

Speckle Interferometric Technique for Astronomical Observations

Journal of Optics, 2003
The speckle imaging is a photographic technique that resolves objects viewed through severely distorted media. The results are insensitive to the errors caused by apparent size of the isoplanatic patch and the telescope aberrations. In this paper, a short descriptions of the atmospheric turbulence and its effect on the flat wavefront from a stellar ...

Interferometric techniques for the characterization of temporal modulators

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2005
Two interferometric techniques measuring the transmission and phase response of temporal modulators are presented. A heterodyne measurement based on two independent monochromatic lasers and a homodyne measurement based on a single monochromatic laser and a 90/spl deg/ optical hybrid allowing dual quadrature detection are studied and compared ...
