Spectroscopic Technique for Probing an Ionized Gas [PDF]

Ionized strontium is studied by the method of resonant absorption of optical radiation. Because of an accidental frequency overlap, normal rubidium can be used in a lamp as the source of resonant light. Spectral profiles of absorption were made with a scanning Fabry-Perot interferometer.

A fast scan submillimeter spectroscopic technique

A new fast scan submillimeter spectroscopic technique (FASSST) has been developed which uses a voltage tunable backward wave oscillator (BWO) as a primary source of radiation, but which uses fast scan (∼105 Doppler limited resolution elements/s) and optical calibration methods rather than the more traditional phase or frequency lock techniques.

Fast Hadamard Spectroscopic Imaging Techniques

Fast Hadamard spectroscopic imaging (HSI) techniques are presented. These techniques combine transverse and longitudinal encoding to obtain multiple-volume localization. The fast techniques are optimized for nuclei with short T2 and long T1 relaxation times and are therefore suitable for in vivo 31P spectroscopy.
