This chapter describes a steady-state sensitivity analysis based on a design point, considering each of the four configurations proposed in Chap. 5. This approach deals with a simulation-based analysis that allows estimation of overall efficiency over a wide range of boundary conditions to determine which cogeneration system is the most optimal in ...

Techno-economic analysis of typical dryers
Energy Conversion and Management, 1991Abstract Techno-economic analysis of typical dryers with different kinds of energy sources has been carried out. It is found that the plastic collectors of life 5–10 yr are the cheapest among all the energy systems. The conventional collectors of lifetime equal to or more than 20 yr are, however, economical when compared with other fuel systems.

Techno-Economic Analysis for Decarbonising of Container Vessels
Book of Extended Abstracts for the 32nd European Safety and Reliability Conference, 2022There are growing concerns on the effect of climate change and the environment. The share of shipping emissions in global anthropogenic emissions has increased from 2.76% in 2012 to 2.89% in 2018. In addition, the pace of carbon intensity reduction has slowed since 2015 with the average annual percentage changes ranging from 1 to 2%. The Levelised Cost

Techno-economic Analysis of CO2 Electroreduction
2022Electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) is a promising alternative to mitigate hard-to-abate sectors, which may produce clean fuels and chemicals using renewable energy. This chapter describes the techno-economic fundamentals for assessing a general CO2 electroreduction system. The methodological insights are summarized and exemplified with a

Techno-economic analysis of phytoremediation: A strategic rethinking
Science of The Total Environment, 2023Phytoremediation is a cost-effective and environmentally sound approach, which uses plants to immobilize/stabilize, extract, decay, or lessen toxicity and contaminants. Despite successful evidence of field application, such as natural attenuations, and self-purification, the main barriers remain from a "promising" to a "commercial" approach. Therefore,

Techno-economic analysis of membrane reactors
2023Membrane reactors are often used as an advancement of existing technologies. By integrating reaction and separation in a single vessel, the efficiency may increase. However, the real indicator that shows if the membrane reactor is outperforming a conventional system is the final cost of the product.

Techno-economic analysis of SysML models
2017 IEEE International Systems Engineering Symposium (ISSE), 2017SysML is a prominent standard serving model-based system design for systems-of-systems (SoS). It facilitates the description of complex system design, as a hierarchy of interacting system components, while at the same time enables the independent description of each component behaviour.
