Single Solid‐State Ion Channels as Potentiometric Nanosensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Single gold nanopores functionalized with mixed self‐assembled monolayers act as solid‐state ion channels for direct, selective potentiometric sensing of inorganic ions (Ag⁺). The design overcomes key miniaturization barriers of conventional ion‐selective electrodes by combining low resistivity with suppressed loss of active components, enabling robust

Productivity shocks in a model with vintage capital and heterogeneous labor [PDF]

open access: yes
We construct a vintage capital model in which worker skills lie along a continuum and workers can be paired with different vintages (as technology evolves) under a matching rule of "best worker with the best machine." Labor reallocation in response to ...

Universal Neuromorphic Element: NbOx Memristor with Co‐Existing Volatile, Non‐Volatile, and Threshold Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A W/NbOx/Pt memristor demonstrates the coexistence of volatile, non‐volatile, and threshold switching characteristics. Volatile switching serves as a reservoir computing layer, providing dynamic short‐term processing. Non‐volatile switching, stabilized through ISPVA, improves reliable long‐term readout. Threshold switching operates as a leaky integrate

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

A Tracer Diffusion Study of Diverse Photo‐Ionic Phenomena in Strontium Titanate

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two strong interfacial photo‐ionic effects are demonstrated for the model system SrTiO3 through the application of isotope exchange experiments: UV illumination is found to enhance the oxygen surface exchange coefficient by several orders of magnitude and to depress the surface space‐charge potential substantially.

The Impact of Incorporating Shell-corrections to Energy Loss in Silicon

open access: yes, 2018
Modern silicon tracking detectors based on hybrid or fully integrated CMOS technology are continuing to push to thinner sensors. The ionization energy loss fluctuation in very thin silicon sensors significantly deviates from the Landau distribution ...
