Nanocrystalline Tin Oxide Nanofibers Deposited by a Novel Focused Electrospinning Method. Application to the Detection of TATP Precursors

open access: yesSensors, 2014
A new method of depositing tin dioxide nanofibers in order to develop chemical sensors is presented. It involves an electrospinning process with in-plane electrostatic focusing over micromechanized substrates. It is a fast and reproducible method.

Substrate scope of ancestral versus modern family‐1 glycosidases

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Experimental studies support that protein engineering based on ancestral sequence reconstruction often leads to variants with biotechnologically useful biomolecular properties. These may include high stability, enhanced conformational flexibility and a modified catalysis range.

From Design of Experiments to Analysis of Variance of Multivariate Data: A Tutorial Review on ANOVA Simultaneous Component Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Chemometrics, Volume 40, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT ANOVA simultaneous component analysis (ASCA) is the current state‐of‐the‐art chemometric tool for analyzing and interpreting high‐dimensional experimental data from a design of experiments (DoE). Being a multivariate extension of the ANOVA, ASCA makes a perfect tandem with DoE.

Geographic risks to functional groups of mammals and birds from habitat loss in Mexico

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract There is a need to quantify the impact of habitat loss due to anthropogenic factors on different aspects of biodiversity, such as functional trait diversity represented by functional groups (FGs). We developed a metric to assess the weighted risk of loss of habitat for 33 FGs of mammals and 36 FGs of birds in Mexico based on potential ...
