Complex examination of the Upper Paleozoic siliciclastic rocks from southern Transdanubia, SW Hungary—Mineralogical, petrographic, and geochemical study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A vertical section of Upper Paleozoic sandstones from southern Transdanubia (Mecsek-Villány area, Tisza mega-unit, Hungary) has been analyzed for major and trace elements, including rare earth elements (REEs).

Middle to Late Miocene Contractional Deformation in Costa Rica Triggered by Plate Geodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Contractional deformation in Costa Rica is usually attributed to the subduction of the aseismic Cocos Ridge. In this work, we review the evidences for contraction in the middle to late Miocene, prior to the arrival of the Cocos Ridge at the Middle ...

Highly Robust Sn‐Based MAX Anodes Constructed via Ti6C Octahedral Outer Immobilization and A‐Layer Fe Inner Anchoring for Long‐Life Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
How can Sn‐based anodes achieve high capacity and long‐life cycling? This work unlocks the potential anode structure by confining Sn in the A layer of MAX phase with Ti6C octahedra as outer immobilization and Fe as inner anchors. The introduction of Fe dramatically strengthens the Ti–Sn bond to enhance structural integrity, modulate interfacial ...

Potential for stratiform base-metal sulphides in SW England [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The British Geological Survey (BGS) has recently re-evaluated the potential for stratiform base-metal sulphide mineralisation in Devon and east Cornwall (Rollin et al., 2001) (Figure 1). On the basis of their stratigraphy and tectonic setting the Lower

Normal fault earthquakes or graviquakes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Earthquakes are dissipation of energy throughout elastic waves. Canonically is the elastic energy accumulated during the interseismic period. However, in crustal extensional settings, gravity is the main energy source for hangingwall fault collapsing ...

Heterointerface Engineering of Bismuth Nanosheets/Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon Nanoleaves Enables High‑Performance Electrochemical Dechlorination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bismuth nanosheets integrated with nitrogen‐doped carbon nanoleaves are constructed via a 2D‐on‐2D heterointerface engineering strategy. The resulting BiNS/NCL electrode delivers high chloride adsorption capacity, fast kinetics, and stable cyclability. A built‐in electric field at the heterointerface promotes chloride electrosorption and stabilizes the

Geochemistry and petrogenesis of volcanic rocks from Daimao Seamount (South China Sea) and their tectonic implications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The South China Sea (SCS) experienced three episodes of seafloor spreading and left three fossil spreading centers presently located at 18°N, 17°N and 15.5°N.

Strain‐Directed Ru Redistribution to Form RuO2/Pt Mosaic Heterointerfaces for Acid‐Stable Water Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Strain‐driven Ru inward migration creates confined RuO2/Pt mosaic heterointerfaces within a PtNi multiframe. These interfaces enable redox‐asymmetric Pt–Ru coupling that stabilizes Ru4+, suppresses lattice oxygen participation, and promotes highly durable acidic oxygen evolution.
