Episodic Seismicity Bursts Driven by Magma Intrusion During the 2025 Santorini‐Amorgos Seismic Crisis

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract The 2025 Santorini–Amorgos seismic crisis in Greece had an exceptionally large number and sustained rate of moderate‐sized earthquakes. We used a machine‐learning‐based earthquake monitoring workflow to detect and relocate 66,109 earthquakes and interpret the results in the context of global analogs.

Tremor Control Devices for Essential Tremor: A Systematic Literature Review

open access: yes, 2019
Artículo de revisiónBackground: There is a growing interest in nonpharmacological approaches for essential tremor (ET), including tremor cancelation devices. However, the true efficacy of such devices in ET remains unclear.

A Multi‐Region Deep Learning Framework for Low‐Frequency Earthquake Detection: Application to the Guerrero Seismic Gap

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 5, October 2026.
Abstract Low‐frequency earthquakes (LFEs) provide key constraints on slow earthquake processes but remain difficult to detect because of their low signal‐to‐noise ratios (SNR) and emergent onsets, particularly in offshore environments where seismic networks are sparse.

Long-term slow slip events with and without tremor activation in the Bungo Channel and Hyuganada, southwest Japan

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2023
Slow slip events (SSEs) lasting for approximately 1 year occur every 6–8 years around the Bungo Channel in the southwest Japan subduction zone. The slip time evolution of the latest Bungo Channel SSE that occurred in 2018–2019 has been studied; however ...

Quantifying the Role of 3D Fault Geometry Complexities on Slow and Fast Earthquakes

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract Traditional models of slow slip events (SSEs) oversimplify fault geometry, although imaging shows subduction faults are segmented and complex. We examine how fault interactions control slip behavior using 3D quasi‐dynamic simulations of two parallel faults with uniform rate‐weakening friction accelerated by hierarchical matrices.

Tectonic tremor: The chatter of mafic underplating

open access: yesSeismica
Tremor is a weak seismic signal accompanying slow fault slip at plate boundaries. The relationship between tremor and slow slip and the tremor source mechanism have been widely debated, owing largely to the challenge of accurately locating tremor in ...

Primary Writing Tremor

open access: yes, 2018
Background: Primary writing tremor (PWT) is a rare condition; tremor occurs primarily while writing rather than during other tasks. Phenomenology Shown: We illustrate the phenomenology of PWT and point out associated subtle dystonic posturing on ...

Thalamic Deep Brain Stimulation for Orthostatic Tremor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Background: Orthostatic tremor is an uncommon disorder manifest by high frequency, low amplitude leg tremor upon weight bearing. Treatment with oral tremor agents is inconsistent and usually not satisfactory.

Along‐Strike Coupling Heterogeneity in Cascadia's Slow‐Slip Zone Constrained by GNSS and Reduced‐Order Rate‐And‐State Friction Modeling

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract Slow slip events (SSEs) in the Cascadia subduction zone exhibit along‐strike segmentation, where the central segment has longer recurrence intervals but smaller moments. We quantify the controls on this variability by combining geodetic inter‐SSE coupling inversion with Bayesian inference of a quasi‐dynamic rate‐and‐state friction SSE‐cycle ...
