Variations in the Characteristic Amplitude of Tectonic Tremor Induced by Long‐Term Slow Slip Events
Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 2021Long‐term slow slip events (L‐SSEs) often excite short‐term slow slips events (S‐SSEs) and tectonic tremor in the zone of episodic tremor and slip (ETS).

Slow slip events (SSEs) have been observed beneath the Nicoya peninsula in Costa-Rica for more than 10 years, and are accompanied by tremor activity both updip and downdip of the seismogenic region.

Experimental constraints on the controlling mechanisms of tectonic tremors
2023Tectonic (or non-volcanic) tremors have been extensively documented at subduction zones and are considered as the signature of transport processes of dehydration-related fluids in subduction zones, often recorded in close association with geodetically observed shear induced slow-slip events. However, to the best of our knowledge, they have not yet been

Probing the Nature of Low‐Frequency Earthquakes Through the Deconvolution of Tectonic Tremor
Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid EarthWe resolve the low‐frequency earthquake (LFE) activity within tremor from a compact area beneath southern Vancouver Island. Using LFE templates made from stacking thousands of nearly co‐located LFEs as empirical Green's functions, we detect LFEs using ...

Surface-Wave Potential for Triggering Tectonic (Nonvolcanic) Tremor
Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, 2010Source processes commonly posed to explain instances of remote dynamic triggering of tectonic (nonvolcanic) tremor by surface waves include frictional failure and various modes of fluid activation. The relative potential for Love- and Rayleigh-wave dynamic stresses to trigger tectonic tremor through failure on critically stressed thrust and vertical ...

Detecting Deep Tectonic Tremor in Taiwan with a Dense Array
Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, 2015Abstract We perform a systematic detection of deep tectonic tremor beneath the southern Central Range in Taiwan using a dense, small‐aperture seismic array. Deployed in February 2011, the array has been recording tectonic tremor nearly continuously for 134 days, including tremor triggered by the 2011 M w 9.0 Tohoku‐Oki earthquake.
