Driving Multi‐Step Regioselectivity in On‐Surface Polymer Synthesis by Molecular Coverage
Regioselective polymerization of dicyclopentaanthracene on Au(111) can be controlled by tuning molecular coverage. Low coverage yields 1D polymers, medium coverage produces quasi‐1D staircase polymers, and higher coverage drives 2D porous networks.

The Effect of Obliquity of Slip in Normal Faults on Distribution of Open Fractures
Close to surface, cohesive rocks fail in extension, which results in open fractures that can be several tens of meters wide, so-called massively dilatant faults. These open fractures make fault slip analysis in rifts challenging, as kinematic markers are

Tube-fed structure occurs as a general phenomenon in Tengchong basic lavas, such as lava tubes, lava plugs and tube-related collapse depressions. We deduced the development of Laoguipo lava flows, which is the longest lava tube (Jingfudong lava tube ...

The evolution of plate tectonics
To understand how plate tectonics became Earth's dominant mode of convection, we need to address three related problems. (i) What was Earth's tectonic regime before the present episode of plate tectonics began?

Slip inversion along inner fore-arc faults, eastern Tohoku, Japan [PDF]
The kinematics of deformation in the overriding plate of convergent margins may vary across timescales ranging from a single seismic cycle to many millions of years.

Observing eruptions of gas-rich compressible magmas from space
Satellite observations are an important tool in volcano monitoring, but observations such as ground deformation and gas emissions are treated independently. Here, the authors present a model coupling them through their link to magma volatile contents and
