Form and load transfer aspects of foundation systems: Case‐based implementation and adaptation for buildings

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Upon conceptualization of structural behavior, foundations in terms of their form are divided into linear (1D), planar (2D), and volumetric (3D). Regarding the load transfer mechanisms, linear foundation systems are considered vector‐acting, planar foundations are divided into section and surface‐acting, and volumetric ones are recognized as block ...

Permeability of granite from a shallow buried mountain pipe gallery tunnel under unloading confining pressure

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Triaxial compression tests under unloading confining pressure conditions were conducted to systematically analyze the permeability behavior of granite retrieved from the different classification surrounding rocks. Abstract The rock mass within mountain tunnels undergoes complex changes in permeability, strength, and deformation during tunneling ...

Three‐Dimensional Graphene Aerogel Materials for Supercapacitors: Strategies and Mechanisms

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
An overview of this review about synthesis and drying of GAs, modified aerogel materials and applications in various types of supercapacitors. Graphene aerogels (GAs) exhibit exceptional potential in energy storage, particularly for high‐capacity supercapacitors (SCs), owing to their unique three‐dimensional (3D) porous structure, high conductivity ...

Hydrothermal Synthesis and Characterization of the Melamine‐Based Second‐Harmonic Generation Material HgCl2(C3N6H6)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
HgCl2(C3N6H6), a layered hybrid material, is obtained by combining mercury(II) chloride and melamine in a hydrothermal synthesis. It crystallizes in a non‐centrosymmetric structure and exhibits strong second‐harmonic generation. The thermally stable compound features a distorted octahedral coordination environment of mercury ions.
