Semantic primitives and compositionality: An Annual Review of Information Science and Technology (ARIST) paper

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract The term semantic primitives refers to a set of basic, atomic concepts from which all other (compound) concepts are constructed. It presupposes the principle of compositionality—the idea that complex items or expressions can be formed by combining simpler constituents.

AI‐Enhanced Design of Hexagonal Shell and Finned Tube Latent Heat Storage System Using Nonuniform Longitudinal Fins and Nanomaterials During Melting

open access: yesHeat Transfer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Thermal energy storage systems incorporating phase‐change materials (PCMs) have difficulties associated with limited thermal conductivity, resulting in ineffective heat storage and retrieval. This study aims to enhance the efficiency of double‐tube latent heat storage systems by utilizing a hexagonal shell augmented with irregular fins and ...

Beyond Traditional Metrics: Developing and Validating a Multidimensional Scale for Consumer Financial Well‐Being

open access: yesPsychology &Marketing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper proposes a scale for measuring consumer financial well‐being (CFW), covering its dimensions and consequences. The holistic nature of the scale is a significant improvement on the existing measures of CFW, which cover only a few dimensions, such as debt and financial distress, without focusing on the consequences of CFW.

Radio Telegraphy in Competition with Wire Telegraphy in Overland Work [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the IRE, 1919
After considering some of the obstacles in the way of successful competition of overland radio service versus wire service, the author treats the mode of overcoming these difficulties. He recommends also radio duplex circuits; reception with loud-speaking receivers and amplifiers; trunk and way circuits from large radio centers of traffic; and relaying

Graphene Nanoplatelets–PVDF Stretchable Sensors for Tactile Interaction: From Grasp Detection to Morse Code Communication

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet‐PVDF wearable sensors for tactile applications. ABSTRACT Conductive flexible pressure sensors based on poly(vinylidene fluoride‐co‐hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF‐HFP) doped with graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) were fabricated via solvent casting, targeting tactile sensing applications. The electrical behavior of the sensors was assessed

Low‐ and High‐Frequency Noise in LEDs

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), EarlyView.
The results of optical noise measurements for commercially available blue light‐emitting diodes in a range from kHz to MHz are reported. The noise spectra decomposition into components according to the theoretical model is performed. The coincidence of the experimental results with 1/fγ model for the low‐frequency range is proved and a fitting is made.
