Tunable Preparation of β‐Substituted Alkenoate Esters via Radical Alkenylation of C(sp3)–H Bonds with Allenoates

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Accepted Article.
A photocatalytic strategy for the radical alkenylation of aliphatic C(sp3)–H bonds with 2,3‐allenoate esters is described. The protocol takes place upon irradiation of the reaction mixture in the presence of the decatungstate anion, which triggers C–H cleavage in the chosen aliphatic substrates.

The Tercentenary of the Telescope [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1910
THE article on the tercentenary of the telescope, published in NATURE of December 16, 1909, is extremely welcome, not only because of its appositeness in point of date, but because Dr. Dreyer sets in true light the nature of Galileo's claims in connection with the discovery of the telescope.

Supramolecular Gels as Active Tools for Reaction Engineering

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The unique combination of environments within gels, self‐assembled from low‐molecular‐weight gelators, offers the ability to control reactivity in new ways, achieving unique reaction outcomes, leading to the emerging concept of supramolecular gels as nanoreactors. Smart chemical engineering methods enable the use of such gels to fabricate materials and

Constructing Stable Bifunctional Electrocatalyst of Co─Co2Nb5O14 with Reversible Interface Reconstitution Ability for Sustainable Zn‐Air Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bifunctional electrocatalyst of Co─Co2Nb5O14 with a strong interaction interface is fabricated, and a bidirectional adsorption/migration mechanism of oxygen species between the reversible active sites of Nb5+/Nb4+ has been proposed. With the catalytic strategy design, the liquid Zn‐air batteries exhibits long‐term stability over 2050 cycles, and the ...
