Things at Work: How Things Contribute to Performing Work

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract A crucial question for organizations is what constitutes work performance. While the importance of human competence and motivation to work performance has been established, less well understood is how ‘things’ – such as algorithms, tools, instruments, and raw materials – contribute to work performance.

Case reports of oral appliance therapy on three young adults with Down syndrome and OSA

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Patients with Down syndrome (DS) have a high incidence of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) due to hypotonia, weight, underdeveloped midface, and relative macroglossia. This article presents three cases of young adults with DS, who were diagnosed with mild to severe OSA and unable to tolerate positive airway pressure therapy.

Reminiscent of the pre‐diatom? A hitherto undescribed scaly bolidophyte Lepidoparma frigida gen. et sp. nov. in a new order Lepidoparmales based on morphology, phylogeny, and ecology

open access: yesJournal of Phycology, EarlyView.
Abstract The class Bolidophyceae, which consists of small phytoplankton distributed worldwide, is the sister group of diatoms. This class has contained only one order, the Parmales, until now. In this study, we established a new order Lepidoparmales Kamakura & S.Sato ord. nov. and a new family Lepidoparmaceae Kamakura & S.Sato fam.

Revision and expansion of the genus Spirirestis (Tolypothrichaceae, Cyanobacteria)

open access: yesJournal of Phycology, EarlyView.
Abstract Recent phylogenetic analyses of members of the Tolypothrichaceae (Nostocales, Cyanobacteria) based on 16S rRNA gene sequence data have demonstrated that the soil‐inhabiting members of the family belong to a clade separate from the aquatic and subaerial members of the family.

Empirical likelihood for martingale differences

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
In this article, we consider an empirical likelihood with vector observations that are martingale differences and prove a Wilks' type theorem under a conditional Lindeberg condition. We then generalize this result to approximate martingale differences.
