Silica‐Supported Mononuclear Methyl‐Platinum Complexes Stabilized by Trimethylphosphine—Synthesis, Structure, and Reactions Under Reducing Conditions

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The article describes the synthesis and molecular transformations of a silica‐supported bis(phosphine)methylplatinum(II) complex under reactive (H2, CO) and inert gas atmospheres. The focus lies on the stabilizing effect of the sterically non‐demanding trimethylphosphine ligand, which alters the reactivity of the surface sites, compared to other ...

Asymmetric Dual‐Electron Bridge Via Gradient Orbital Coupling for Robust Alkaline Oxygen Evolution in Low‐Iridium Water Electrolysis

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The engineered IrOx/FeEu‐NiTex composite, with ultralow Eu (0.72 at%) and Ir (0.14 at%) content, harnesses an asymmetric dual‐electron‐bridge structure (Ni 3d–O 2p–Eu 4f, Ni 3d–O 2p–Ir 5d) for gradient orbital coupling. This unique architecture delivers superior and robust alkaline oxygen evolution activity, enabling efficient low‐iridium water ...

Lattice‐Strained Cu2O‐Ni/NiO Heterostructure Enables Selective Electrocatalytic C–C Coupling of Alcohols to Cinnamaldehyde in Aqueous Medium

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study achieved the selective oxidation C–C coupling of PhCH2OH with EtOH to form cinnamaldehyde (CAL) on a designed Cu2O‐Ni/NiO heterojunction catalyst. By employing a salt precipitation strategy to balance the pH and cation concentration, an 86% conversion rate of PhCH2OH and a 67% high selectivity for CAL were realized.
