Utilization of Chalcone for Targeted Removal of Azo Dye From Wastewater [PDF]

open access: yesWater Environ Res
In this study, a chalcone derivative (BrBP‐Ch), designed as a small molecule adsorbent, was evaluated for the removal of Congo red (CR) dye from aqueous solutions. ABSTRACT In this study, a chalcone derivative (BrBP‐Ch), designed as a small molecule adsorbent, was evaluated for the removal of Congo red (CR) dye from aqueous solutions. The adsorbent was

The impact of antibiotic use on transmission of resistant bacteria in hospitals: Insights from an agent-based model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Extensive antibiotic use over the years has led to the emergence and spread of antibiotic resistant bacteria (ARB). Antibiotic resistance poses a major threat to public health since for many infections antibiotic treatment is no longer effective ...

Interfacial adsorption characteristics of surfactant‐modified nanoparticles: Equilibrium and dynamic effects of salinity at the oil–water interface

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Surfactant‐modified nanoparticles adsorb at the oil–water interface, enabling interfacial stabilization and microemulsion formation. Abstract This study systematically investigated the interfacial behaviour of silicon dioxide (SiO2) and aluminium oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles (NPs) functionalized with cationic (CTAB), anionic (SDS), and nonionic (Triton ...

Reliable Change Formula Query: Temkin et al. reply [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the International Neuropsychological Society, 2000
Hinton-Bayre (2000) raises a point that may occur to many readers who are familiar with the Reliable Change Index (RCI). In our previous paper comparing four models for detecting significant change in neuropsychological performance (Temkin et al., 1999), we used a formula for calculating Sdiff, the measure of variability for the test–retest ...

Distant recurrence in a patient with polyp-confined stage IA serous endometrial carcinoma treated with adjuvant chemotherapy: A case report and review of literature

open access: yesGynecologic Oncology Reports, 2020
Uterine serous carcinoma is a rare, high-risk histological subtype of endometrial cancer, and use of adjuvant treatment in early stage IA disease is inconsistent, especially when the tumor is confined entirely within an endometrial polyp.

Ion‐Enriched Porous Organic Polymer for Gold Recovery From E‐Waste

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
A novel ion‐enriched porous organic polymer was designed and synthesized. It exhibits ultrahigh gold adsorption efficiency with capacity up to 1530.9 mg g−1, and also shows selective capture ability towards gold ions in the actual CPU leaching solution, demonstrating its promising potential for gold recovery from actual e‐waste.
