The Continuum Fallacy in Moral Philosophy
ABSTRACT ‘Spectrum arguments’ or ‘continuum arguments’ in moral philosophy are sometimes invalid because they commit a particular fallacy I call the ‘Continuum Fallacy’. An important example is an argument in population ethics described by Derek Parfit, which purports to derive a conclusion that he and others find repugnant on the basis of a weak and ...

Efficient Selective Adsorption of Anionic Dyes by Modified Activated Alumina Spheres
ABSTRACT The persistent environmental threat from dye‐contaminated industrial wastewater necessitates advanced remediation solutions. Hydrochloric acid–modified activated alumina spheres (HAAs) are presented as efficient adsorbents for anionic dye removal.

ABSTRACT The textile industry is a water‐intensive industry that disrupts aquatic ecosystems by releasing recalcitrant chemicals like crystal violet (CV) dye characterized by its carcinogenic and mutagenic nature. Ethanolic extract of saponin‐rich Sapindus mukorossi was employed in the synthesis of biogenic iron oxide nanoparticles (IONP).

Eggshell‐Based Biochar for Superior Adsorption of Crystal Violet Dye and Fluoride From Wastewater
ABSTRACT Present study investigates the efficiency of eggshell biochar as a low‐cost and ecofriendly adsorbent for the simultaneous removal of fluoride ions and crystal violet (CV) dye from wastewater. The eggshell waste was pyrolyzed to produce biochar, which was thoroughly characterized and subsequently employed for contaminant adsorption.

Stable modification of relative curves
We generalize theorems of Deligne-Mumford and de Jong on semi-stable modifications of families of proper curves. The main result states that after a generically \'etale alteration of the base any (not necessarily proper) family of multipointed curves ...
