A Temnospondyl amphibian from the Rio do Rasto Formation, Upper Permian of southern Brazil
A partially preserved lower jaw constitutes the holotype of Bageherpeton longignathus n. g., n. sp., a probable archegosaurid amphibian, which is here assigned to the Platyoposaurinae.
