Amphibians' Expansion to Record Elevations Influences Chytrid (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis) Infection Dynamics

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 58, Issue 2, March 2026.
Peruvian frogs underwent a climate‐driven range expansion into deglaciating mountains, exposing themselves and their fungal pathogen Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) to challenging new thermal environments. Bd has dispersed extensively in these new habitats, and elevation may mediate the apparent sublethal impacts of infection for frogs.

Soil CO2 efflux in central Amazonia: environmental and methodological effects Efluxo de CO2 do solo na Amazônia central: efeitos ambiental e metodológico

open access: yesActa Amazonica, 2012
Soil respiration plays a significant role in the carbon cycle of Amazonian rainforests. Measurements of soil respiration have only been carried out in few places in the Amazon.

Alteração na geografia do cultivo do feijoeiro conforme aumento da temperatura do ar no Estado do Mato Grosso do Sul. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020

Mitigating light pollution impacts on arthropods based on light‐emitting diode properties

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Light pollution from artificial light at night (ALAN) is a significant environmental problem with far‐reaching consequences for ecological systems. Recent innovations in light‐emitting diode (LED) technology may offer sustainable outdoor lighting solutions, but scientific evidence is lacking. We investigated the effects of various LED lighting

Variation in responses to temperature in admixed Populus genotypes predicts geographic shifts in regions where hybrids are favored

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 3, Page 1509-1526, February 2026.
Summary Plastic responses of plants to their environment vary as a result of genetic differentiation within and among species. To accurately predict rangewide responses to climate change, it is necessary to characterize genotype‐specific reaction norms across the continuum of historic and future climate conditions comprising a species' range. The North

Influência da temperatura, umidade e profundidade do solo na persistência do diurom e sulfato de endossulfam em um solo tropical [PDF]

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2010
The influence of temperature (30 and 40 ºC) and soil humidity (20, 50 and 70% of water holding capacity) on the degradation of the herbicide diurom and the endosulfan metabolite, endosulfan sulfate was studied under laboratory conditions, in different soil layers (0-30, 30-38 and 38-83 cm) of an Oxisol (Yellow Latosol) collected in an agricultural area

Recovering European River Invertebrate Communities Homogenize or Differentiate Depending on Anthropogenic Stress

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 1, January 2026.
(a) European river invertebrate communities showed an average increase in local richness over time (1994–2023), indicating partial local recovery following the alleviation of anthropogenic stress (e.g., point‐source pollution). However, this local recovery was not accompanied by increases in β‐diversity, likely due to persistent, unaddressed stressors,
