Spin-lattice relaxation rate of a magnetic impurity in the spin degenerate Anderson model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
The renormalization group formalism was applied to calculate the spin-lattice relaxation rate of a well-defined magnetic moment in the neighborhood of a spin degenerate Anderson impurity. In the Kondo regime, the spin-lattice relaxation rate as a function of the temperature presents a peak at the Kondo temperature; for temperature much lower then the ...

Respiratory complex I‐mediated NAD+ regeneration regulates cancer cell proliferation through the transcriptional and translational control of p21Cip1 expression by SIRT3 and SIRT7

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
NAD+ regeneration by mitochondrial complex I NADH dehydrogenase is important for cancer cell proliferation. Specifically, NAD+ is necessary for the activities of NAD+‐dependent deacetylases SIRT3 and SIRT7, which suppress the expression of p21Cip1 cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor, an antiproliferative molecule, at the translational and transcriptional

Temperature correction to the critical temperature

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1988
Abstract Results of lattice calculations of the temperature of the deconfinement transition in QCD without quarks are reanalyzed taking into account the one-loop temperature correction. This improves scaling behaviour of the data and gives T c Λ MS =1.65±0.03 .

Anisotropic Vortices in High-Temperature Superconductors and the Onset of Vortex-like Excitations above the Critical Temperature [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
Recently we have found that a three-dimensional superconducting state with anisotropic vortices localized at the vortex-lattice points is a stable state in zero external magnetic field for the layered high temperature uperconductivity materials.

Peripheral blood leukocyte signatures as biomarkers in relapsed ovarian cancer patients receiving combined anti‐CD73/anti‐PD‐L1 immunotherapy in arm A of the NSGO‐OV‐UMB1/ENGOT‐OV30 trial

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using mass cytometry, we analyzed serial blood samples from patients with relapsed epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) treated with oleclumab–durvalumab combination immunotherapy in the NSGO‐OV‐UMB1/ENGOT‐OV30 trial. Our analysis identified potential predictive, monitoring, and response biomarkers detectable through liquid biopsy. These findings facilitate

Response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in early breast cancers is associated with epithelial–mesenchymal transition and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with early breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). This study evaluated EMT and TIL shifts, with immunofluorescence and RNA sequencing, at diagnosis and in residual tumors as potential biomarkers associated with treatment response.

Sensitivity adjustable in-line high-temperature sensor based on metal microwire optical Fabry-Perot interferometer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The optical fiber Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI) has been widely investigated as a potential temperature sensor. To function as a temperature sensor, the cavity of the FPI is typically constructed from either silica fibers or polymers. The silica cavity FPIs can function at temperatures exceeding 1000{\deg}C.

Multiplex single‐cell profiling of putative cancer stem cell markers ALDH1, SOX9, SOX2, CD44, CD133 and CD15 in endometrial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cancer stem cells are associated with aggressive disease, but a deep characterization of such markers is lacking in endometrial cancer. This study uses imaging mass cytometry to explore putative cancer stem cell markers in endometrial tumors and corresponding organoid models.
