Identifying Mechanical Properties of Viscoelastic Materials in Time Domain Using the Fractional Zener Model

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
The present paper aims at presenting a methodology for characterizing viscoelastic materials in time domain, taking into account the fractional Zener constitutive model and the influence of temperature through Williams, Landel, and Ferry’s model. To that

Detection of human influence on a new, validated 1500-Year temperature reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Climate records over the last millennium place the twentieth-century warming in a longer historical context. Reconstructions of millennial temperatures show a wide range of variability, raising questions about the reliability of currently available ...

Small influence of solar variability on climate over the past millennium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The climate of the past millennium was marked by substantial decadal and centennial scale variability in the Northern Hemisphere(1). Low solar activity has been linked to cooling during the Little Ice Age (AD 1450-1850; ref.

Genotype and temperature influence pea aphid resistance to a fungal entomopathogen

open access: yes, 2003
The influence of temperature on life history traits of four Acyrthosiphon pisum clones was investigated, together with their resistance to one genotype of the fungal entomopathogen Erynia neoaphidis .

Effect of DFPP on Ferroptosis in Peripheral Blood CD14+ Monocytes of Hyperlipidemic Patients Involving the ACSL4/LPCAT3/ALOX5 Pathway

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Hyperlipidemia is a major risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Although statins are the cornerstone of lipid‐lowering therapy, their use may be limited in some patients by adverse effects. This study evaluated the possible impact of non‐drug treatment using double‐filtration plasmapheresis (DFPP) on CD14+

Detecting anthropogenic influence with a multi-model ensemble [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Averaging results from multiple models has previously been found to improve estimates of the climatology and seasonal predictions of atmospheric variables.

Influence of High-Temperature Treatment on Strength and Failure Behaviors of a Quartz-Rich Sandstone under True Triaxial Condition

open access: yesLithosphere, 2022
In this paper, the effect of high temperature on the mechanical properties of quartz-rich sandstone was studied by true triaxial pressure experiment. The density, P-wave velocity, elastic modulus, peak stress, peak strain, and failure mode of quartz-rich

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Root temperature and growth of young tomato plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
During recent years sophisticated techniques are applied in the glasshouse industry for the control of the glasshouse climate. Along with that development, extensive research programs were carried out to establish optimum conditions for growth.
