Elliptic aspects of statistical mechanics on spheres
Our earlier results on the temperature inversion properties and the ellipticisation of the finite temperature internal energy on odd spheres are extended to orbifold factors of odd spheres and then to other thermodynamic quantities, in particular to the ...

Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the

Magnetotransport properties in a noncentrosymmetric itinerant magnet Cr$_{11}$Ge$_{19}$
We have investigated anomalous Hall effect and magnetoresistance in a noncentrosymmetric itinerant magnet Cr$_{11}$Ge$_{19}$. While the temperature- and magnetic-field-dependent anomalous Hall conductivity is just proportional to the magnetization above ...

Temperature-induced inversion of allosteric phenomena.
Two instances, involving the enzymes carbamoyl-phosphate synthetase from Escherichia coli and phosphofructokinase from Bacillus stearothermophilus, respectively, are described in which increasing temperature alone causes the actions of an allosteric ligand to change from inhibition to activation. In neither case are these effects due to a change in the

In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.

Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Concurrence of Temperature and Humidity Inversions in Winter in Qingdao, China
Concurrence of temperature inversion (TI) and humidity inversion (HI) is a particular configuration of the atmospheric boundary layer with important implications for early warning of fog formation. With a microwave radiometer device deployed in a 2‐month

Spectropolarimetric NLTE inversion code SNAPI
Inversion codes are computer programs that fit a model atmosphere to the observed Stokes spectra, thus retrieving the relevant atmospheric parameters. The rising interest in the solar chromosphere, where spectral lines are formed by scattering, requires ...

Substrate Stress Relaxation Regulates Cell‐Mediated Assembly of Extracellular Matrix
Silicone‐based viscoelastic substrates with tunable stress relaxation reveal how matrix mechanics regulates cellular mechanosensing and cell‐mediated matrix remodelling in the stiff regime. High stress relaxation promotes assembly of fibronectin fibril‐like structures, increased nuclear localization of YAP and formation of β1 integrin‐enriched ...

Temperature inversions near 75 km
Measurements of temperature in the mesosphere have indicated the occurrence of a temperature inversion near 75 km. Acoustic grenades, falling spheres, thermistors, and pitot probes indicate that this feature also occurs at a number of widely scattered locations, and on occasion has been observed synoptically.
