A meta‐analysis of temperature sensitivity as a microbial trait
Global Change Biology, 2018Traits‐based approaches in microbial ecology provide a valuable way to abstract organismal interaction with the environment and to generate hypotheses about community function.

A temperature-sensitive respiratory alarm
Clinical Physics and Physiological Measurement, 1983Describes a novel alarm which is designed to monitor respiration in a patient undergoing intermittent positive pressure ventilation. The alarm operates by sensing the temperature differences between the inspired and expired gas using a thermistor mounted close to the point in the breathing circuit where the patient connection is made. It offers several

Pseudofacilitation: A temperature-sensitive phenomenon
Muscle & Nerve, 2000With sustained isometric exercise, compound muscle action potential (CMAP) amplitude of normal subjects may increase, a phenomenon known as pseudofacilitation. To explore the mechanism of pseudofacilitation, the effect of exercise combined with focal heating and cooling of abductor pollicis brevis was examined in 10 normal subjects.

Sensitive temperature gradiometer for use at low temperatures
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1978A device capable of very sensitive temperature gradient measurements in the presence of relatively large ambient temperature fluctuations is described. The device uses a pair of ’’matched’’ superconducting thin films in a bridge arrangement, with a SQUID magnetometer probe as the null detector.

Analyzing and Correcting Spectrometer Temperature Sensitivity
Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2001Stability and reproducibility of the spectrometer are fundamental to the success of many modern NMR experiments. Variation in room temperature is a particularly important source of instability, in part because it can cause coherent artifacts in NMR spectra.

Depth dependence of soil carbon temperature sensitivity across Tibetan permafrost regions
Soil Biology and Biochemistry, 2018Permafrost regions with high soil organic carbon (SOC) storage are extremely vulnerable to global warming. However, our understanding of the temperature sensitivity of SOC decomposition in permafrost regions remains limited, leading to considerable ...

Sensitivity of non-contact Temperature Measurement Using Temperature Sensitive Ferrite
Journal of the Korean Magnetics Society, 2004To construct the non-contact temperature detection systems, LC resonance type sensors composed of temperature sensitive ferrite inductors and capacitors were used, and their wireless temperature detection performances were investigated. The temperature was wirelessly detectable using the fabricated LC resonance sensors with a transmitter and receiver ...

Temperature-Sensitive Mutants of Reovirus
1998One of the ultimate goals of contemporary biological research is to gain a detailed understanding of the mechanisms by which important biological processes are carried out. Mutant strains of eukaryotic cells, bacteria, and viruses have been used as powerful tools to facilitate the understanding of an extremely broad range of such biologic processes ...

Temperature sensitivity and fluorescence detection
Journal of Separation Science, 2008AbstractFluorescence detectors are about three orders of magnitude more sensitive and specific making them ideal for trace analysis and complex sample matrices. However, temperature dependence of the signal is a disadvantage to fluorescence detectors. We have previously reported degradation of malondialdehyde (MDA)–thiobarbituric acid (TBA) adduct at ...

Temperature-Sensitive Mutants of Herpesviruses
1975The processes involved in herpesvirus replication, latency, and oncogenic transformation, have, in general, been rather poorly defined. A primary reason for this is the size and complexity of the herpesvirus genome. Undoubtedly, a better understanding of the functions of the viral genome in infected and transformed cells will be achieved through ...
