In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

RTB Innovation Catalog Template
The template can be used for the documentation of innovations in the CGIAR Research Program on Roots, Tubers and Bananas (RTB) Innovation Catalog. The template explains what information and fields to provide and how to provide it in order to successfully

Malformin A1–mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells occurs through pyroptosis and autophagy
This study investigated the effects of the natural compound Malformin A1 (MA1) on the cytoskeleton that regulates cell proliferation and migration. Disruption of the cytoskeleton can impair these processes and promote cancer cell death. MA1 disrupted cytoskeletal organization, induced DNA damage, inflammation, activated autophagy, and pyroptosis ...

Fingerprint template protection by adopting random projection based on re-encryption
In random projection (RP) based biometric template protection methods, the generated template and key are vulnerable to attacks, which may cause the leakage of users’ privacy. To solve this problem,an improved RP-based fingerprint template protection method

Protecting Biometric Templates with Image Watermarking Techniques [PDF]
Biometric templates are subject to modifications for identity fraud especially when they are stored in databases. In this paper, a new approach to protecting biometric templates with image watermarking techniques is proposed. The novelty of this approach is that we have combined lattice and block-wise image watermarking techniques to maintain image ...

Hybrid biometric template protection
Bloom filters (BFs) and homomorphic encryption (HE) are prominent techniques used to design biometric template protection (BTP) schemes that aim to protect sensitive biometric information during storage and biometric comparison. However, the pros and cons of BF- and HE-based BTPs are not well studied in literature.

In silico and in vitro exploration of a tyrosinase for biocatalytic production of catechols
Tyrosinase from Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum is a promising biocatalyst for producing valuable catechols from monophenol substrates. This tyrosinase is uniquely suited to this due to its high monophenolase : diphenolase ratio. We combined in silico docking and in vivo kinetic characterisation of this tyrosinase with 11 industrially relevant monophenols,

A novel fuzzy vault scheme based on the feature level fusion of fingerprint and face features
Aiming at the problem that the biometric feature-based fuzzy vault is vulnerable to correlation attack and the loss of key and biometric template, and the authentication performance of fuzzy vault based on single biometric feature is unreliable,a novel ...

Robust technique for fingerprint template protection
Fingerprint authentication systems generally save data extracted from fingerprint as minutiae template in the database. However, it is often found that databases can be attacked and compromised by the adversary. So if minutiae points of a user are leaked, the fingerprint can be generated from them.
