In the field of high-performance piezoelectric materials, PMN-PT single crystals and textured ceramics have been attracting increased research interest for several years. On the other hand, the growth of single crystals from melt for PZT-based compositions is impossible due to its incongruent melting behavior. In order to obtain the characteristics of

Abstract Platelike BaTiO 3 (BT) templates were used for the first time to fabricate (0 0 1) textured K 0.5 Na 0.5 NbO 3 (KNN) piezoelectric ceramics. Plakelike BT templates with a thickness of 1–1.5 μm and a mean diameter of 10–15 μm were synthesized by the topochemical microcrystal conversion method using Bi 4 Ti 3 O 12 as precursor particles.

Abstract Dense BaTiO 3 ceramics with 〈1 1 1〉-texture were prepared by the TGG process. Platelike BaTiO 3 particles with their 〈1 1 1〉 direction perpendicular to the plate face were prepared by the reaction of platelike Ba 6 Ti 17 O 40 particles with BaCO 3 particles in molten NaCl.

Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3–BaZrO3 textured ceramics prepared by reactive templated grain growth method
Ceramics International, 2015Abstract In this work 0.94Na 0.5 Bi 0.5 TiO 3 –0.06BaZrO 3 (NBT–BZ) ceramics were prepared by a reactive templated grain growth (RTGG) method using 15 wt% NBT template. The as synthesized NBT–BZ textured ceramics were sintered at 1150 °C for different soaking times (2–15 h) and their crystal structure, microstructure, dielectric, ferroelectric and ...

Texture development in piezoelectric ceramics by templated grain growth using heterotemplates
Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2005Abstract The mechanisms of texture development were examined in the 〈0 0 1〉-textured bismuth layer-structured ferroelectrics (BLSF) prepared by the templated grain growth (TGG) method using BLSF templates with the composition different from that of the matrix.

Texturing of mullite by templated grain growth with aluminum borate whiskers
Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2001Textured mullite was produced by templated grain growth with a mixture of mullite powder and aluminum borate (9Al 2 O 3 . 2B 2 O 3 ) whiskers. A gated doctor blade was used to align the whiskers in the c-axis in the mullite matrix during tape casting.
