Anytime Reliable LDPC Convolutional Codes for Networked Control over Wireless Channel

open access: yes, 2013
This paper deals with the problem of stabilizing an unstable system through networked control over the wireless medium. In such a situation a remote sensor communicates the measurements to the system controller through a noisy channel.

Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of Integrative Neuromuscular Training for Childhood Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...

Microscopic entropy of the three-dimensional rotating black hole of BHT massive gravity

open access: yes, 2009
Asymptotically AdS rotating black holes for the Bergshoeff-Hohm-Townsend (BHT) massive gravity theory in three dimensions are considered. In the special case when the theory admits a unique maximally symmetric solution, apart from the mass and the ...

Reactivity of TEMPO anion as a nucleophile and its applications for selective transformations of haloalkanes or acyl halides to aldehydes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Sodium 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-N-oxide (TEMPO−Na+), generated by reduction of TEMPO· with sodium naphthalenide in THF, reacted with alkyl halides or acyl halides to produce O-alkylated or acylated TEMPOs, which were in turn oxidized with ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Distributed Algorithms for Computation of Centrality Measures in Complex Networks

open access: yes, 2016
This paper is concerned with distributed computation of several commonly used centrality measures in complex networks. In particular, we propose deterministic algorithms, which converge in finite time, for the distributed computation of the degree ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Ergodic Randomized Algorithms and Dynamics over Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Algorithms and dynamics over networks often involve randomization, and randomization may result in oscillating dynamics which fail to converge in a deterministic sense.

Integrable systems with BMS$_{3}$ Poisson structure and the dynamics of locally flat spacetimes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We construct a hierarchy of integrable systems whose Poisson structure corresponds to the BMS$_{3}$ algebra, and then discuss its description in terms of the Riemannian geometry of locally flat spacetimes in three dimensions. The analysis is performed in

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.
