Temporal and Spatio-Temporal Attention to Tactile Stimuli in Extinction Patients

Cortex, 2006
The temporal deployment of attention to tactile stimuli delivered to the same or to a symmetrical position of the body was assessed in 6 Right-Brain Damaged (RBD) patients with left tactile extinction and 6 healthy controls. Two different tasks called Temporal (T) and Spatio-Temporal (ST) extinction were used.

Temporal Orienting of Attention

2005
ABSTRACT Intuition suggests that knowing when something is going to happen would help us to focus our resources at that expected point in time and enhance our behavior. Recent experiments have validated this notion, and have begun to reveal the neural systems and mechanisms involved in the temporal orienting of attention.

Interaction of attention and temporal object priming

Psychological Research, 2008
Within a 3 x 3 matrix of 90 degrees corner junctions, detection of a Kanizsa-type square is facilitated when the target display is preceded by a 40-Hz flickering premask of 3 x 3 crosses, with four crosses synchronously oscillating at the subsequent target location.

Video Description with Spatial-Temporal Attention

Proceedings of the 25th ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2017
Temporal attention has been widely used in video description to adaptively focus on important frames. However, most existing methods based on temporal attention suffer from the problems of recognition error and detail missing, because only coarse frame-level global features are employed.

Temporal Differentiation of Attentional Processes

2007
In this paper an analysis of the notion of attention is described that comprises a differentiation according to five stages of an attentional process related to action selection and performance. The first stage deals with the allocation of attention to external and internal stimuli, the second with examination and analysis, the third with decision ...

Temporal Constraints on Attention

1993
Attention is temporally distributed. The inability of humans to perform optimally at all times is often an indication of attentional variation. Momentary performance variations are commonly labeled as lapses in attention. The construct of attention would be unnecessary if humans performed optimally at all times, by always selecting the most relevant ...

Selective attention in pigeon temporal discrimination

Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, 2018
Cues can vary in how informative they are about when specific outcomes, such as food availability, will occur. This study was an experimental investigation of the functional relation between cue informativeness and temporal discrimination in a peak-interval (PI) procedure.

Selective Attention and Temporal-Order Judgment

Perception, 1993
A procedure originally introduced by Sternberg and coworkers was used to examine the effect of selective attention on temporal-order judgment. Two-response and three-response paradigms were employed. As in Sternberg et al's work, a shift of psychometric functions for the two-response paradigm was found that suggested shorter latency for the stimulus to

Spatial-Temporal Attention for Action Recognition

2018
We present a new framework for end-to-end classifying actions in video called Spatial-Temporal Attention Model (STAM) which integrates ideas from attention mechanism to better explore spatial and temporal information, simultaneously, in videos. Specifically, spatial attention is used to locate the action-relevant parts within each video frame, temporal
