Converting Temporal Relational Database into Temporal Object Relational Database

2017
This paper presents an approach for migrating existing temporal relational database (TRDB), into temporal object relational database (TORDB). This is done by enhancing a representation of a varying time database’s structure, in order to make hidden semantic explicit.

IMPLEMENTATION OF TEMPORAL DATABASES

2004
Conventional databases represent the state of an enterprise at a single moment of time. They support modification operations which facilitate the transition from one consistent database state to another. For queries, they assume that all facts stored in the database are valid at the time instant a query is evaluated.

Temporal database bibliography update

1998
This is the seventh bibliography concerning temporal databases. In this bibliography, we collect 331 new temporal databases papers. Most of these papers were published in 1996-1997, some in 1995 and some will appear in 1997 or 1998.

Compact representations of temporal databases

The VLDB Journal, 2018
This paper investigates the storage compactness of temporal merges. A temporal merge is a joint representation of a set of snapshots of the same database at different points in time. An axiomatic requirement for temporal merges is that each individual snapshot must be derivable from it. We first show that the usual temporal extension of a database is a

Temporal inferencing on administrative databases

Information Systems, 1985
Abstract Temporal inferencing is basic to business data processing, e.g. in such concepts as income, wealth, exchange, budgeting and contractual commitment. Time appears in numerous forms within the information system, however, in data items of varying syntax; or implicitly, in the current state of the database.

Temporal databases

ACM SIGMIS Database: the DATABASE for Advances in Information Systems, 1994
This article presents a Temporal Enhanced Entity-Relationship (TEER) model, which shows how temporal information can be captured within a conceptual data model and extended to the relational data model. The time elements proposed for the TEER model include both transaction time and valid time.

Temporal triggers in active databases

IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, 1995
In this paper we propose two languages, called Future Temporal Logic (FTL) and Past Temporal Logic (PTL), for specifying temporal triggers. Some examples of trigger conditions that can be specified in our language are the following: "The value of a certain attribute increases by more than 10% in 10 minutes," "A tuple that satisfies a certain predicate ...

On Querying Temporal Deductive Databases

1993
Information about the objects modeled by databases changes in real-world applications. However, time is not managed in a uniform manner in most databases. Temporal databases have been introduced to fill this gap [15]. A survey of works on historical and temporal databases can be found in [16].

Temporal Databases with Null Values

2000
In this paper we present a temporal data model capable of representing null values in valid time based on first normal form (1NF) and temporal intervals. As opposed to pervious temporal data models, we store the length of valid time intervals in our model as additional information.

A temporal deductive database model

Proceedings of the 35th Annual Southeast Regional Conference on - ACM-SE 35, 1997
We extend the deductive database model by incorporating the notion of time. We define the notion of temporal Horn clauses. The declarative semantics of temporal deductive databases is presented. Then, we develop a bottom-up evaluation scheme for temporal deductive rules. We establish the correctness of the bottom-up approach.
