Temporal decorrelation of vegetation by environmental and seasonal effects

IGARSS 2000. IEEE 2000 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Taking the Pulse of the Planet: The Role of Remote Sensing in Managing the Environment. Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37120), 2002
The temporal decorrelation of forests in response to environmental and seasonal effects is computed using the Michigan fractal-based coherent scattering model. Frequencies ranging from P- through X-band are considered. Substantial decorrelation (/spl alpha/ 0.9).

Anisotropy of Spatiotemporal Decorrelation in Electrohydrodynamic Turbulence

Physical Review Letters, 2011
Nonlinear straining and random sweeping spatiotemporal decorrelation properties, originally introduced as the main processes for turbulent fluctuations decorrelation in usual fluid flows, have been observed experimentally in anisotropic electroconvective turbulence generated in a nematic liquid crystal under the action of an external oscillating ...

Parameterization of Spatial and Temporal Ionospheric Decorrelation for GBAS Landing Systems

Proceedings of the 2019 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Manufacturing, 2019
The Ground-Based Augmentation System (GBAS) of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) ensures precise approaching and safe landing for aviation by lending differential corrections and integrity information to the target aircrafts. Since the ionosphere gradients could cause ionospheric delays, GNSS users may suffer severe degradation in positioning ...

On the temporal decorrelation of feature parameters for noise-robust speech recognition

IEEE Transactions on Speech and Audio Processing, 2000
We propose a new frame decorrelation method for robust speech recognition in noisy environments. In most cases, signal perturbation is caused by channel distortion and additive background noise, and can be modeled as a slowly varying term in either the log spectral or the linear-spectral domains.

Temporal Decorrelation as Preprocessing for Linear and Post-nonlinear ICA

2004
We present a straightforward way to use temporal decorrelation as preprocessing in linear and post-nonlinear independent component analysis (ICA) with higher order statistics (HOS). Contrary to the separation methods using second order statistics (SOS), the proposed method can be applied when the sources have similar temporal structure.

Effective Interference Suppression Via Spatio-Temporal Block Decorrelation

2007 IEEE 18th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2007
In this paper, we present an effective method for suppressing spatially and temporally correlated interference. The method treats adjacent temporal samples of the received signal as signal branches coming from additional antennas and uses conventional methods for cancelling spatially correlated interference to decorrelate blocks of spatio-temporal ...

Learning Temporal-Correlated and Channel- Decorrelated Siamese Networks for Visual Tracking

IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, 2022
Recently, Siamese network based trackers have attracted growing popularity in visual tracking, which tackle the tracking by template matching between the initial template and successive search regions. The initial template patch is generally encoded into a convolutional feature for matching.

Temporal Decorrelation impacts on repeat pass tomography in a tropical forest

2015 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2015
The objective of this paper is to provide a better understanding of the impact of temporal decorrelation on the tomography phase of the P-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) BIOMASS mission, 7-th Earth Explorer of the European Space Agency. In this context, in the framework of the Phase A studies of the BIOMASS mission, the airborne TropiSAR 2009 and ...

Temporal decorrelation analysis at P band over tropical forest

2011 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2011
The TropiSAR campaign was conducted in French Guiana in the summer 2009 in the framework of the Phase A studies pertaining to the BIOMASS mission, one of the three for Earth Explorer candidates. Its main objectives were the evaluation of P-Band radar imaging over tropical forests for biomass and forest height estimation.

Radar Imaging From Geosynchronous Orbit: Temporal Decorrelation Aspects

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2010
Synthetic aperture radar imaging from geosynchronous orbit has significant potential advantages over conventional low-Earth orbit radars, but it also has challenges to overcome. The baseline mission we consider is an L-band geosynchronous passive (bistatic) radar achieving a spatial resolution of about 100 m with an integration time of 8 h.
