Temporal decorrelation of X-band backscatter from wind-influenced vegetation
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1992The temporal decorrelation characteristics of X-band radar backscatter from wind-influenced vegetation were investigated using a short-range CW radar. Radar reflectance data were gathered on various types of individual trees from a distance of approximately 30 m. The windspeed was monitored during each measurement, which lasted 5 s. The crown cover and

Polarimetric Temporal Decorrelation Studies by Means of GBSAR Sensor Data
2006 IEEE International Symposium on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2006In this paper, a study of the temporal evolution of the elements of 3 x 3 covariance matrix using an X-band polarimetric ground-based SAR sensor is proposed. Although the heterogeneity of the scenario allows to select different target typologies, the study is mainly focused on the analysis of azimuthally symmetric distributed targets.

Forest temporal decorrelation: 3D analyses and processing in the Diff-Tomo framework
2013 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - IGARSS, 2013Techniques based on coherent combination of complex (amplitude and phase) SAR data, in particular Pol-InSAR and 3D multibaseline SAR Tomography (Tomo-SAR), can extract rich information on complex scenarios with multiple scatterers mapped in the SAR cell.

Temporal Decorrelation impacts on repeat pass tomography in a tropical forest
2015 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2015The objective of this paper is to provide a better understanding of the impact of temporal decorrelation on the tomography phase of the P-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) BIOMASS mission, 7-th Earth Explorer of the European Space Agency. In this context, in the framework of the Phase A studies of the BIOMASS mission, the airborne TropiSAR 2009 and ...

Temporal decorrelation in polarimetric differential interferometry using a ground-based SAR sensor
Proceedings. 2005 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2005. IGARSS '05., 2005In this paper, the first results of the Polarimetric Ground-Based SAR system developed at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) are presented. A heterogeneous scenario containing different kinds of targets such as low vegetation, forest and urban areas has been chosen for performing a measurement campaign.

Temporal Decorrelation Studies for Vegetation Parameter Estimation with Space-Borne Radars
IGARSS 2008 - 2008 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2008The SAR/InSAR component of the NASA DesdynI mission for measuring vertical vegetation structure from space consists of four possible approaches. These include the use of radar backscatter to estimate biomass, to employ PolInSAR relative phase for measuring the vertical extent, the use of interferometric phase and a ground reference, or the use of ...

Transient rough surface analysis using temporal decorrelation of speckle patterns
Journal of Optics, 1991The authors study transient random movements of small particles located on rough surfaces. This method applies the properties of correlation of speckle patterns scattered by the surface when it is illuminated by a laser beam. A theoretical model of the movement of particles has been introduced and its availability verified experimentally.

Coupling delay optimization by temporal decorrelation using dual threshold voltage technique
IEEE Transactions on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Systems, 2003Coupling effect due to line-to-line capacitance is of serious concern in timing analysis of circuits in ultra deep submicrometer CMOS technology. Often coupling delay is heavily dependent on temporal correlation of signal switching in relevant wires. Temporal decorrelation by shifting timing window can alleviate performance degradation induced by tight

Coherent change detection using temporal decorrelation model for volcanic ash detection
2016 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2016Detection of changes induced by major events such as earthquakes, flooding and volcanic eruptions from interferometric SAR data is difficult due to the coupled effects with temporal decorrelation caused by natural phenomena such as rain, snow, wind and seasonal changes.
