Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Random walks in non-Poissoinan activity driven temporal networks

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2019
The interest in non-Markovian dynamics within the complex systems community has recently blossomed, due to a new wealth of time-resolved data pointing out the bursty dynamics of many natural and human interactions, manifested in an inter-event time ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Trajectories through temporal networks

open access: yesApplied Network Science, 2021
What do football passes and financial transactions have in common? Both are networked walk processes that we can observe, where records take the form of timestamped events that move something tangible from one node to another. Here we propose an approach

A Temporal Network Version of Watts’s Cascade Model

open access: yes, 2013
Threshold models of cascades in the social and economical sciences explain the spread of opinion and innovation as an eect of social influence. In threshold cascade models, fads or innovation spread between agents as determined by their interactions to ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
