Reasoning with Temporal Constraints in RDF
2006Time management is a key feature needed in any query language for web and semistructured data. However, only recently this has been addressed by the Semantic Web community, through the study of temporal extensions to RDF (Resource Description Framework). In this paper we show that the ability of the RDF data model of handling unknown resources by means

Probabilistic quantitative temporal reasoning
Proceedings of the Symposium on Applied Computing, 2017Temporal reasoning, in the form of propagation of temporal constraints, is an important topic in Artificial Intelligence. The current literature in the area is moving from the treatment of "crisp" temporal constraints to fuzzy or probabilistic constraints, to account for different forms of uncertainty and\or preferences.

Large Language Models-guided Dynamic Adaptation for Temporal Knowledge Graph Reasoning
Neural Information Processing SystemsTemporal Knowledge Graph Reasoning (TKGR) is the process of utilizing temporal information to capture complex relations within a Temporal Knowledge Graph (TKG) to infer new knowledge.

Temporal reasoning for timeline summarisation in social media
Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational LinguisticsThis paper explores whether enhancing temporal reasoning capabilities in Large Language Models (LLMs) can improve the quality of timeline summarisation, the task of summarising long texts containing sequences of events, such as social media threads.

2007
Temporal reasoning is widely used within both Computer Science and A.I. However, the underlying complexity of temporal proof in discrete temporal logics has led to the use of simplified formalisms and techniques, such as temporal interval algebras or model checking. In this paper we show that tractable sub-classes of propositional linear temporal logic

STEP: Enhancing Video-LLMs’ Compositional Reasoning by Spatio-Temporal Graph-guided Self-Training
Computer Vision and Pattern RecognitionVideo Large Language Models (Video-LLMs) have recently shown strong performance in basic video understanding tasks, such as captioning and coarse-grained question answering, but struggle with compositional reasoning that requires multi-step spatio ...

Modifying Rete to reason temporally
Proceedings of 1993 IEEE Conference on Tools with Al (TAI-93), 2002Although researchers stress the importance of relative time representations, most expert system shells with temporal reasoning target real-time domains and use absolute time representations. This ontological assumption limits these systems to domains in which temporal events relate to times of occurrence.

Irrelevance in uncertain temporal reasoning
Proceedings Third International Workshop on Temporal Representation and Reasoning (TIME '96), 2002In the presence of uncertainty, relevance of information degenerates as time evolves. The work shows that this degeneration occurs in probabilistic temporal reasoning. A mechanism for analyzing this phenomenon uses a Markov chain representation and a degree of relevance measure called temporal extraneousness.

A Unified Temporal Knowledge Graph Reasoning Model Towards Interpolation and Extrapolation
Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational LinguisticsTemporal knowledge graph (TKG) reasoning has two settings: interpolation reasoning and extrapolation reasoning. Both of them draw plenty of research interest and have great significance.
