Coevolution in Temporally Variable Environments
The American Naturalist, 2003Many potentially mutualistic interactions are conditional, with selection that varies between mutualism and antagonism over space and time. We develop a genetic model of temporally variable coevolution that incorporates stochastic fluctuations between mutualism and antagonism.

Temporal variability and local adaptation
Trends in Ecology & Evolution, 1996Gene flow is often regarded as a constraining force because it can counteract selective forces that lead to local adaptationl. Local adaptation (adaptive deme formation) can be studied relatively easily in the context of host-parasite and plant-herbivore interactions through transplant experiment+4.

Temporal variability of soil organic carbon in paddies during 13‐year conservation tillage
Land Degradation and Development, 2019Decreasing temporal variability of soil organic carbon (SOC) can avoid its temporary loss, which is positive to SOC accumulation and mitigation of climate change.

Temporal Variability–Based Functional Brain Lateralization Study in ADHD
Journal of Attention Disorders, 2019Objective: The aim of this work is to explore the relationship between temporal variability and brain lateralization in ADHD. Method: The temporal variabilities of 116 brain regions based on resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI ...

Towards temporal linguistic variables
10th IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems. (Cat. No.01CH37297), 2002Although fuzzy logic has been successfully applied in many different problem domains, fuzzy solutions typically structure the problem task as one of static categorisation. This may not be appropriate for dynamic systems, especially where higher-order information is unavailable.

Spatio‐temporal variability of extreme precipitation in Nepal
International Journal of Climatology, 2018Nepal is one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change impacts. Extreme weather events associated with heavy precipitations are the principal causes of landslides, debris flows and all types of floods disasters in the country, which by causing ...

Normal temporal variability of the P100
Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology/Evoked Potentials Section, 1987Determination of clinically significant temporal changes in P100 latency requires knowledge of the degree of normal intraindividual variability. Checkerboard visual evoked potentials using 3 check sizes (17', 35' and 70') were performed serially on 20 healthy volunteers. Each subject was tested at least twice an average of 6 months apart.

Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, 1995
Abstract Temporal variables can be used to verify and enforce temporal consistency which is usually essential for safe operation of physical processes and devices. A theory of non-continous intervals is used to represent temporal variables. This results in a set of five axioms which form the foundation for an intuitive, deductive temporal logic.

Temporal variability in population and community dynamics
Ecology, 2021AbstractPopulations and communities fluctuate in their overall numbers through time, and the magnitude of fluctuations in individual species may scale to communities. However, the composite variability at the community scale is expected to be tempered by opposing fluctuations in individual populations, a phenomenon often called the portfolio effect ...
