A recursive temporal algebra and temporal completeness
Proceedings Third International Workshop on Temporal Representation and Reasoning (TIME '96), 2002This paper introduces a recursive temporal algebra based on temporal semantics for querying time-varying data. The algebra, called /spl Rfr/*, is based on a temporal relational data model in which a temporal database is modeled as a collection of time-varying relations. Each time-varying relation is a collection of ordinary relations indexed by moments

Temporal Interoperability in Multi+Temporal Databases
Journal of Database Management, 1998A multidatabase system allows applications and users to access heterogeneous information through a common interface. Information is shared and exchanged in a transparent way within a federation of autonomous database systems. In a multi+temporal database, the connected systems may be standard (snapshot) databases, temporal databases (either valid-time,

“Temporal” Integrity Constraints in Temporal Databases
1995In this paper we consider a class of integrity constraints which describe admissible lifecycles of database objects, and which can be specified by transition graphs. We present an algorithmic scheme for monitoring such constraints in temporal databases which efficiently support the concept of valid-time.

Dynamic temporal interpretation contexts for temporal abstraction
Proceedings Third International Workshop on Temporal Representation and Reasoning (TIME '96), 1998The temporal-abstraction task is the task of abstracting higher-level concepts from time-stamped data in a context-sensitive manner. We have developed and implemented a formal knowledge-based framework for decomposing and solving that task that supports acquisition, maintenance, reuse, and sharing of temporal-abstraction knowledge.

Temporal References and Temporal Relations in Sentence Comprehension.
Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition, 2004The author investigated the interpretation of temporal references during comprehension of sentences containing a main and subordinate clause. Experiments 1 and 2 examined state and event subordinate clauses, respectively, and showed that subordinate temporal references overlapping with or close to the time of the main clause event were read faster than
