Output Adjustment in Developing Countries: a Structural Var Approach [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines whether temporary fluctuations in output around potential in developing countries are induced primarily by aggregate demand shocks or temporary aggregate supply shocks.

Who is responsible for health and safety of temporary workers? EU and UK perspectives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
There have been several attempts to provide certain protection to temporary agency workers at the EU level by Directive 91/383/EEC in respect of health and safety and most recently by Directive 2008/104/EC in respect of other working conditions ...

Domain Wall Rebounds Driven by Competing Entropic and Spin‐Transfer Torques in Cylindrical Nanowires

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Domain‐wall motion in cylindrical magnetic nanowires driven by nanosecond current pulses. Low current densities efficiently displace domain walls, whereas higher currents cause rebound at the wire ends. The effect results from the interplay between spin‐transfer torque and thermally induced processes, highlighting the role of thermal gradients in ...

A Novel Surgical Template Design in Staged Dental Implant Rehabilitations

open access: yeseJournal of Oral Maxillofacial Research, 2012
Background: The philosophy of a gradual transition to an implant retained prosthesis in cases of full-mouth or extensive rehabilitation usually involves a staged treatment concept. In this therapeutic approach, the placement of implants may sometimes be

Diatom assemblages in Portuguese temporary rivers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
During a survey of benthic diatoms in watercourses from Portugal in spring and summer 2006 and 2007, 76 sites in temporary streams (according to the National Water Institute classification) have been studied.

Sustainable Catalyst‐Free PLG Networks: Recyclability, Biodegradability, and Functional Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A catalyst‐additive free covalent adaptable network is developed from star‐shaped poly(lactide‐co‐glycolide) cross‐linked with pyromellitic dianhydride, enabling internal carboxylic acid‐driven transesterification. The resulting biodegradable network exhibits mechanical robustness (Young's modulus ≈1.6 GPa), complete recyclability, rapid biodegradation

Hedging Strategies Under Temporary Market Impact [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This thesis is concerned with the problem of hedging derivatives under temporary market impact. We are going to examine the problem of hedging derivatives in an optimal control setting similar to [14] and [10].

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

A New Threshold Switching Device With Tunable Negative Differential Resistance Based on ErMnO3 Polymorphs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymorph engineering in ErMnO3 enables low‐voltage, forming‐free threshold switching with tunable negative differential resistance. Conducting orthorhombic regions embedded in an insulating hexagonal matrix provide controlled Joule‐heating‐enhanced Poole–Frenkel transport. The hexagonal phase prevents excessive heating and breakdown.

Tobacco craving and withdrawal symptoms in psychiatric patients during a motivational enhancement intervention based on a 26-hour smoking abstinence period

open access: yesTobacco Prevention and Cessation, 2019
Introduction In psychiatric patients, tobacco withdrawal symptoms are frequently seen as a barrier to smoking cessation; however, further studies are warranted in this specific population. Methods Patients receiving in- or out-patient mental health care
