Self‐Healing Hydrogel‐Enabled Modular Assembly of Bilayered Skin Construct for Hair Follicle Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐healing assembly of two cell‐laden hydrogel layers creates a biomimetic skin construct that restores both dermal and epidermal functions, resulting in accelerated wound healing and enhanced hair follicle regeneration in a full‐thickness skin wound model. ABSTRACT Alopecia remains a pervasive clinical challenge, largely owing to the limited ability

Effect of explant type and immersion frequency on potato microtubers cv. `Andinita' production in Temporary Immersion Systems

open access: yesBiotecnología Vegetal, 2015
The potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is one of the most important crops. Commercial production of microtubers in temporary immersion systems could represent a qualitative step in the production of planting material.

Potato microclonal propagation method in a temporary immersion bioreactor [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
A promising and efficient approach to obtaining a genetically pure and identical plant to a given explant is through microclonal propagation. This method pre-determines the reproduction of plants by managing, controlling, and regulating the parameters of

Advances in 3D Bioprinting for Breast Cancer Modeling: Tumor Microenvironment, Metastasis, and Drug Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Three‐dimensional bioprinting transforms breast cancer modeling from simple constructs into spatially organized, multicellular, perfused, and patient‐derived platforms. This review shows how bioinks, cellular composition, architecture, and flow govern tumor behavior and drug response, while revealing why complexity alone is insufficient without ...

Stretchable Microelectrode Arrays for Electro‐Mechanical Probing of Brain Spheroids

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A multimodal device featuring kirigami‐patterned stretchable microelectrode arrays enables concurrent mechanical actuation and electrophysiological recording of brain spheroids. The platform supports multiple loading regimes and reveals mechanically induced modulation of spontaneous network activity in 3D neural tissue models.

Spatial Control of Light‐Responsive Proteins and Optogenetics Within Hydrogels via Volumetric Bioprinting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Spatiotemporal control over cell behavior within bioprinted constructs remains a key challenge in biofabrication. Volumetric bioprinting using multi‐wavelength light sources permits to activate light‐sensitive intracellular proteins as well as optogenetic gene and protein expression circuits in bioprinted cells, in addition to enabling fast printing of

Defect‐Engineered Microwave‐Responsive Ni@C Composites From Waste PET for Catalytic Plastic Upcycling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A circular upcycling strategy transforms waste poly(ethylene terephthalate) bottles into microwave‐responsive Ni@C catalyst featuring lattice‐distorted nickel cores and defective carbon shells. These strain‐rich heterointerfaces enhance dielectric loss and promote localized microwave hotspots, accelerating peroxymonosulfate activation and polymer‐chain

Beyond Nanoporosity: A CO2‐Conditioned Glassy Matrix Contributes to the Brittle‐to‐Ductile Transition of Nanocellular Polyetherimide

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The mechanical performance of nanocellular polyetherimide cannot be explained by nanoporosity alone. It is shown that CO2 saturation and desorption leave a distinct mechanical signature in the glassy matrix before foaming. This matrix contribution provides a new route to understand and optimize the brittle to ductile transition in nanocellular polymers.

In Vitro Culture Strategies for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Vanilla planifolia Andrews: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesJournal of Zoological and Botanical Gardens
Vanilla planifolia is an endangered orchid of significant commercial relevance, primarily valued for the natural vanillin derived from its cured fruits. However, its global production faces critical threats due to its limited genetic variability and high
