Interpreting the large amplitude X-ray variation of GRS 1915+105 and IGR J17091-3624 as modulations of an accretion disc [PDF]
Using the flux resolved spectroscopy for the first time, we analyse the RXTE/PCA data of the black hole X-ray binaries GRS 1915+105 and IGR J17091-3624, when both sources show large amplitude, quasi-regular oscillations in 2.0-60.0 keV X-ray light curves.

Objectives: Temporomandibular disc is a mechanically robust fibrocartilage tissue exhibiting highly elastic compressive, shear, and tensile moduli with structurally dense extracellular matrix that supports functional loading of the joint. The aim of this

Monocular Retinal Depth Estimation and Joint Optic Disc and Cup Segmentation using Adversarial Networks [PDF]
One of the important parameters for the assessment of glaucoma is optic nerve head (ONH) evaluation, which usually involves depth estimation and subsequent optic disc and cup boundary extraction. Depth is usually obtained explicitly from imaging modalities like optical coherence tomography (OCT) and is very challenging to estimate depth from a single ...

Doppler tomography of Cataclysmic Variables [PDF]
The study of cataclysmic variables (CVs), and in particular of the evolution of their accretion discs throughout their different brightness states, has benefited largely from the use of indirect imaging techniques. I report on the latest results obtained from Doppler tomography of CVs concentrating mainly on results published since the 2000 ...

Internal derangements of the temporomandibular joint are conditions in which the articular disc has become displaced from its original position the condylar head. Relevant anatomic structures and their functional relationships are briefly discussed.

Secular diffusion in discrete self-gravitating tepid discs III. Resonant thickening in the tightly wound limit [PDF]
The secular thickening of a discrete self-gravitating galactic disc is investigated using the inhomogeneous multi-component Balescu-Lenard equation. The thick WKB limit for the diffusion and drift coefficients is found using the epicyclic approximation, while assuming that only radially tightly wound transient spirals are sustained by the disc.

A Comprehensive Approach to Diagnosing Temporomandibular Joint Diseases: AI-driven TMD Diagnostic System [PDF]
AI-driven TMD diagnostic system uses AI segmentation method to diagnose Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD). By using segmentation, three important parts: temporal bone, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disc and the condyle can be identified. The location and the size of each segment are used as the basic information to determine if the patient has a ...
