Temps D'Arret Optimal, Quasi-Temps D'Arret et Retournement du Temps

open access: yesThe Annals of Probability, 1979
A generalized problem of optimal stopping is defined, which has a solution in the class of quasi-stopping times, which generalize the classical stopping times. The optimal quasi-stopping times are fully characterized. By time reversal, on a Markov process, various results of Meyer, Mokobodzki and Rost are interpreted as results of existence of optimal ...

Low‐Cost WS2 Photodetector on Water‐Soluble Paper for Transient Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a transient WS2 photodetector fabricated on water‐soluble paper using simple mechanical abrasion and pencil drawing. The device demonstrates reliable photoresponse and mechanical flexibility. It dissolves in water within seconds after use, enabling material recovery and reuse.

Oligohistidine‐Functionalized Single‐Walled Carbon Nanotube‐Guided RNA Delivery to Improve Shoot Regeneration Efficiency in Plant Calli

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The pH‐sensitive His6‐SWNTs, which is functionalized with oligohistidine, can deliver STTM396 molecules into callus cells. The STTM396–SWNT complex treatments enhance shoot regeneration efficiency by regulating the miR396‐GRF module in Arabidopsis and tomato calli.

Unlock the Walnut: How a Pectin‐Rich Suture Tissue and Moisture‐Driven Crack Formation Induce Shell Splitting and Facilitate Seed Germination

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Walnut seeds are enclosed in a remarkably strong shell made of sclerenchyma, separated by a pectin‐rich suture tissue. Different cell shapes and chemical composition of this tissue point to an opening mechanism, which is triggered by cyclic humidity changes.

Supramolecular Liquid Crystal Elastomer Adhesives: Role of Internal Damping and Hydrogen Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The adhesion strength can be significantly enhanced through the molecular design of supramolecular liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) that combine high internal damping from mesogen reorientation with abundant hydrogen‐bonding moieties. Solvent vapor annealing enables reversible, non‐thermal control of adhesion, offering potential for heat‐sensitive ...
