The Wiener-filtered COBE DMR Data and Predictions for the Tenerife Experiment [PDF]

open access: bronze, 1996
We apply a Wiener filter to the two-year COBE DMR data. The resulting sky map has significantly reduced noise levels compared to the raw data: the most prominent hot and cold spots are significant at the 4-sigma level.

Nuclear and Chloroplast Markers Provide New Insights Into the Syngameon Dynamics of Genus Micromeria (Lamiaceae) in the Canary Islands. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
This study explores species syngameons, hybridizing networks that facilitate gene pool sharing while maintaining species differentiation, using Micromeria in the Canary Islands as a model. The findings reveal that syngameons are larger and more complex on younger islands, with widespread taxa playing a critical role in maintaining these networks.

The age–metallicity relationship in the Fornax spheroidal dwarf galaxy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We produce a comprehensive field star age–metallicity relationship (AMR) from the earliest epoch until ∼1 Gyr ago for three fields in the Fornax dwarf spheroidal galaxy by using VI photometric data obtained with FORS1 at the VLT.

Strains and Jets in Black Hole Fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We study the behaviour of an initially spherical bunch of particles emitted along trajectories parallel to the symmetry axis of a Kerr black hole. We show that, under suitable conditions, curvature and inertial strains compete to generate jet-like ...
