Mechanical tensile properties of the anterolateral ligament

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, 2015
Background In a noticeable percentage of patients anterolateral rotational instabilities (ALRI) remain after an isolated ACL reconstruction. Those instabilities may occur due to an insufficiently directed damage of anterolateral structures that is often ...

Mechanical properties of crepe paper and chickpaper [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2016
The paper deals with the evaluation of the mechanical properties of the crepe paper and chickpaper. The thickness of crepe paper was 300 m with the surface mass 150 g*m-2 and chickpaper paper thickness was 100 m with the surface mass 40 g*m-2.

Pre-fatigue influence on quasi-static tensile properties of Ti-6Al-4V in thin-sheet form [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The response of engineering structures to loads is most often assessed without taking possible damage of the used material(s) into account. However, it has already been proved that a preceding cyclic loading and the alteration of the microstructure it ...

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Tensile properties of in-situ precipitated polydimethylsiloxane networks

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2013
Tensile propertiesof polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) networks filled with in-situ precipitated silica were investigated. Experimental results showed that increasing the swelling time of cured rubber sheets in tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) solution or elevating ...
