Sound Absorption Properties Of Single-Hole Hollow Polyester Fiber Reinforced Hydrogenated Carboxyl Nitrile Rubber Composites

open access: yesAUTEX Research Journal, 2017
A series of single-hole hollow polyester fiber (SHHPF) reinforced hydrogenated carboxyl nitrile rubber (HXNBR) composites were fabricated. In this study, the sound absorption property of the HXNBR/SHHPF composite was tested in an impedance tube, the ...

Acoustic emission activity in directly tensile test on marble specimens and its tensile damage constitutive model

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology, 2018
For understanding acoustic emission (AE) activity and accumulation of micro-damage inside rock under pure tensile state, the AE signals has been monitored on the test of directly tension on two kinds of marble specimens.

Completion of evaluation of manufacturing processes for B/Al composites containing 0.2mm diameter boron fibers [PDF]

open access: yes
Four fabricators produced a total of 54 B/1100 Al, B/6061 Al, and B/2024 Al panels for evaluation. The 8 ply unidirectional, 45 to 50 volume percent, panels were made using 0.20 mm diameter boron fibers which were obtained from a single supplier.

Tensile Properties of Nanosilica/Epoxy Nanocomposites

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2012
AbstractThe effect of nanosilica on the tensile stress-strain response of Epikote 828 epoxy polymer was studied. A 40 wt% nanosilica/epoxy masterbatch was used to prepare a series of nanocomposites with 5–25 wt% nanosilica content. Static uniaxial tensile tests were conducted to investigate the tensile stress–strain response and tensile properties of ...

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Surface Response Methodology-Based Mixture Design to Study the Influence of Polyol Blend Composition on Polyurethanes’ Properties

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Polyurethanes are materials with a strong structure-property relationship. The goal of this research was to study the effect of a polyol blend composition of polyurethanes on its properties using a mixture design and setting mathematic models for each ...

The effects of multiple repairs on Inconel 718 weld mechanical properties [PDF]

open access: yes
Inconel 718 weldments were repaired 3, 6, 9, and 13 times using the gas tungsten arc welding process. The welded panels were machined into mechanical test specimens, postweld heat treated, and nondestructively tested.

Adsorption of atoms and molecules on s-triazine sheet with embedded manganese atom: First-principles calculations

open access: yes, 2017
The mechanical, structural, electronic and magnetic properties of s-triazine sheet (C6N6) with embedded Mn atom (Mn-C6N6) is investigated under the influence of external environment using density functional theory. Our results show that Mn-C6N6 system is

Phenomenological and Physically Based Modeling of Flow Stress and Strengthening Mechanism of Inconel 718

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nickel‐based alloys are widely used in high‐temperature applications due to their excellent mechanical strength and oxidation resistance. However, properties such as high‐temperature strength and pronounced work‐hardening make them difficult to machine.
