Tensile Strength

positions: asia critique, 2020
In studies of contemporary Chinese art, Lin Tianmiao’s work has been overwhelmingly discussed in terms of women’s crafts and maternal roles. Citing her use of embroidery and the female figure, these interpretations have led to broad and often simplified characterizations of her work as “women’s art.” In focusing exclusively on symbolic allusions to ...

Tensile Strength

2018
In this chapter, the probabilistic porous-solid model is used to simulate the tensile strength of unsaturated soils tested at different water contents. The strength of unsaturated soils can be split into two parts: one related to the net stress and the other to suction stress.

The Tensile Strength of Elastomers

Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1955
Abstract The theory of strength proposed above appears to describe satisfactorily the effect of crosslinking on the strength of amorphous elastomers, and to apply semiquantitatively to crystallizable elastomers. Further work, involving the effect of primary molecular weight, constitution, swelling, and additives is required to substantiate the ...

Tensile strength of restorative resins

European Journal of Oral Sciences, 1980
Abstract –The purpose of the present work was to measure the tensile strength of restorative resins and to study the effect of the method of measurement on the recorded results. A direct pull method using dumb‐bell shaped specimens was used. The tensile strength of the resins was also tested using die diametral compression method suggested by the A.D.A.

Tensile Strength of Spinal Ligaments

Spine, 1988
Spinal ligaments from 41 fresh human male cadavers were tested. The ligaments were tested in situ by sectioning all elements except the one under study. The force deflection curves demonstrated a sigmoidal shape, and the point at which an increase in deflection was obtained with decreasing force was taken as failure.

High-Tensile Strength Tape Versus High-Tensile Strength Suture: A Biomechanical Study

Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 2016
To determine which suture design, high-tensile strength tape or high-tensile strength suture, performed better at securing human tissue across 4 selected suture techniques commonly used in tendinous repair, by comparing the total load at failure measured during a fixed-rate longitudinal single load to failure using a biomechanical testing machine ...

Comparison of Granule Strength and Tablet Tensile Strength

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1983
The granule strength (crushing load) of lactose granulated with 1-9% povidone was measured initially and at intervals during a 1-year period. The granule strengths of dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate granulated with various concentrations of starch and povidone were measured.
