On the determination of flow stress using bulge test and mechanical measurement [PDF]
The standard uniaxial tensile test is a widely accepted method to obtain relevant properties of sheet metal materials. These fundamental parameters can be used in numerical modeling of sheet forming operations to predict and assess formability and ...

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF STARCH-CHITOSAN COMPOSITES [PDF]
In this experiment, the composites based on chitosan-starch were synthesized at different weight ratios (3/7, 4/6, 5/5, 6/4, 7/3, 8/2, 9/1) by using 4 %v of glycerol as plasticizer.

The subject of this work is the development of a corrosion‐protective coating on steel sheets for form hardening. Rapid heating in an extreme high vacuum (XHV)‐adequate atmosphere is a useful method to prevent oxidation during alloying of 22MnB5 and aluminum to obtain a metallurgical bonding.

High temperature, short term tensile strength of C6000/PMR-15 composites [PDF]
Tensile tests were conducted on 0 unidirectionally reinforced Celion 6000 graphite fibers in PMR-15 polyimide matrix. Tensile strengths for coupons subjected to short and long term uniform temperatures were obtained.

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...
