Method and apparatus for tensile testing of metal foil [PDF]
A method for obtaining accurate and reproducible results in the tensile testing of metal foils in tensile testing machines is described. Before the test specimen are placed in the machine, foil side edges are worked until they are parallel and flaw free.

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

Effect of surface treatments on the cross-section area and on the tensile properties of sisal fibers
This work deals with the effect that surface treatments can cause on the cross-section and on the tensile properties of sisal fibers. The simplest treatment of washing in tap water, at room temperature and at 60°C, was compared with mercerization ...

An assessment of the remodelling of bifurcations in hazel (Corylus avellana L.) in response to bracing, drilling and splitting [PDF]
This paper provides an insight into the ability of bifurcations in hazel trees to remodel themselves after bracing, drilling and splitting. The study uses evidence from field observations and testing the strength of these bifurcations using a universal ...

In this manuscript, the processability of X2CrNiMo17‐12‐2 powder coated with silicon carbide, silicon, and silicon nitride nanoparticles is investigated. The amount of nanoparticles varies from 0.25 to 1 vol%. By coating the powder feedstock material with nanoparticles, an enlargement of the process window and an increase in the build rate are achieved.

Experimental Investigation on Tensile Strength of Jacquard Knitted Fabrics [PDF]
An objective approach to select the best fabric for technical and home textiles consists in mechanical properties evaluation. The goal of this study is to analyze the behavior of knitted fabrics undergoing stretch stress. In this respect, three types of 2 colors Rib structure (backstripes jacquard, twillback jacquard and double-layered 3x3 rib fabric ...

Herein, silicon‐based nanoparticle coatings on X2CrNiMo17‐12‐2 metal powder are presented. The coating process scale, process parameters, nanoparticle size (65–200 nm) as well as the coating amount are discussed regarding powder properties. The surface roughness affects the flowability, while reflectance depends on the coating material and surface ...
