Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Research on Adaptability of Anti-Recoil Control Algorithm of Riser Tensioner

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
To further verify the adaptability of the anti-recoil control of the riser tensioner during emergency disconnect sequence in offshore drilling, a simulation model of the anti-recoil control of the riser system was established.

All-Inside Anterior Cruciate Ligament Graft Link: Graft Preparation Technique

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2012
The anatomic single-bundle, all-inside anterior cruciate ligament graft-link technique requires meticulous graft preparation. The graft choice is no-incision allograft or gracilis-sparing, posterior semitendinosus autograft.

Experimental investigation on the dynamic characteristics and transverse vibration instabilities of transmission belts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Serpentine belt drives are often used in front end accessory drive of automotive engine. Dynamic characteristics of belts play an important role in the behavior of such transmission and are inputs of simulation software. Moreover, free belt spans exhibit

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Integrated dynamic model of a conveyor with a chain traction body and a sprocket drive [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник Брянского государственного университета
Well-known studies of dynamic processes in chain conveyors are based on various models. However, the authors of such studies usually do not provide a complete description of their models, methods for determining its parameters, or the necessary technical

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.
